Xanthe looked at her phone when it vibrated in her hand. Her cheeks immediately became warm the blushing when she read his text. Even after being apart for 5 years, she still blushed at his compliment. She pulled the a blanket over her lap to keep her legs warm before sending him another text. You, sure?...Well I hope you're having a good night so far. Xanthe knew that it was wrong for her to be texting her ex boyfriend when she is in a relationship with another guy, but Xanthe didn't have anyone else to talk to. Matteo made her friends stop talking and visiting her, so she had no one in her life.

Lucas sat looking at his phone, loving being able to talk with her again. He smiled at her message. I always have time for you, my night could be so much better, if you were here. How about yours, did you get everything you needed to done? He knew she had commitments, and things in her life, he just hoped she'd be able to make time for him aswell

Xanth blushed even more. Oh how she missed the way Lucas was so sweet to her. Matteo was nothing like him. He was nice to her at first but once they became official and she moved in with him, he had changed. I'm having a good night. And yes I did. I'm just relaxing now. she replied back, although she lied about the first part. However, it was a better night than last night. She thought to herself as she gently rubbed her fingers against the bruises on her body that Matteo had caused

Lucas blushed at her reply, she seemed to be okay, at least through the messages. Relaxing aye? glass of wine, and some nibbles? he messaged. He looked at the time on his phone, it was fairly early still. He wanted to see her again.

Xanthe wanted to take up on his offer, but she was afraid that she wouldn't get back home in time before Matteo wake up or that his friends will see her and tell him. She hated that he controlled her and that she was afraid of him. Although, Xanthe should be afraid of Lucas after what happened, but he never hurt her intentionally. I...I don't think that's a good idea right now. she replied.

Lucas' smile faded slightly as she said it wasn't a good idea right now. He shifted on the bed, and carefully typed out another message.

What's going on Xanthe? you seem off, are you okay?

Xanthe frowned when she saw his text. Her life had turned upside down the moment she had seen Lucas. She wanted to tell him everything, but she knew knew it wouldn't be good on her end. I can't tell you...I wish I could. But I'm okay...

Lucas sighed softly, a little hurt she didn't feel she could tell him. He shifted on the mattress, and looked around the empty place.

Xanthe smiled sadly reading his text because she really want to be with him or spend more time with him, but knew that it was a bad idea for her. You're too kind to me.

Lucas smiled at her response, I'm not kind enough, if I was nicer, I wouldn't of left you for so long he replied. He shifted on his bed, it had been so long inside, and the wide space of the warehouse, was alot for him to get used too.

Xanthe smiled sadly at his response. Prior to the incident and his arrest, she had no idea that he was in a gang, but he never put her in harm's way. Although seeing him kill the rival gang members that attacked her, did haunt her for a while You were trying to protect me from your enemies. She replied, curling her legs closer to her body.

Lucas read the text, and just sat there for awhile. I wish you never had to see that side of me, the side that you always kept away. He curled up on the mattress, beginning to feel tired and sleepy.

Xanthe didn't know what to say to that. She understood why he kept that part of him hidden from her. Xanthe doesn't know if she would have been with him if she knew who he was, but that was besides the point now. Yawning, Xanthe knew that her body was begging for her to go to sleep, but she didn't want to be rude and fall asleep in the middle of texting Lucas. My body is begging me to go to bed...I hope you have a good night Lucas. Xoxo.

Lucas yawned, he was so tired, he read her text, and knew she must be tired.

He missed her so much, and this wasn't what he was hoping for when he first found her again. He did get that things had changed a lot, he just hoped that things would change back somewhat.

Xanthe smiled at the text before curling up in the sofa to fall asleep. She didnt want to sleep next to Matteo tonight.

Lucas fell asleep, and soon found himself dreaming of her again.

Matteo woke early, shifting in the bed. He was confused not to find Xanthe in the bed next to him. He got up and headed into the bathroom to get ready for work

Xanthe forgot that she had fallen asleep on the couch instead of her bed when she was woken up by a loud slam. She sat up quickly, panting hard before looking over to see Matteo standing in front of her with his arms crossed.

Matteo looked down at her, "morning, why did you sleep out here?" he asked. He was dressed ready for work already, and was about ready to head out the door. However if her reason didnt satisfy him, there was still time for her to be taught a lesson about her place.

Xanthe panicked. She didnt know what to tell him. He would know if she was lying and she definitely could not tell him that she stayed up talking to her ex. However she tried to make an excuse that he could possibly buy.

"I wasn't ready to go to bed yet when you did. So I came out here to watch some tv and I guess I fell asleep." She said, hoping he would buy her excuse.

Matteo moved closer and lent down kissing her lips. "Fair enough, try come to bed next time my love," he said softly. He ran his hand down her side, "I need to head to work, see you tonight," he said softly.
