One question... what exactly do you mean by "gender roles"?

Agreed and Agreed.
- druscilla; dormouse.:
- I think that people who will make good parents [responsible, financially able, etc.] should be able to adopt.
Sexuality shouldn't be important.
but at the same time you cannot say it is wrong without saying that is just your oppinion because to these people, it is not wrong. It is what they believe.
- Endless Nameless:
- I agree with Durscilla..
It doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, bi, black, white, etc...you should still be able to adopt a child regardless of what your orientation, race, religion, or whatever is you are.. it's basically stopping people from having what they want because you don't like them because of who they are/decided how to live...it's just really wrong
I have a class (Christian Sexuality, which isn't as shitty as it sounds) at school that defines a gender role as the "commonly accepted place in society for a certain gender."

What if they did?
- Orchestra Of Wolves:
- dont mind having two mums or two dads
Honestly, if they're two good people, and two good parents, what reason would the child have for resenting them?

Not everyone who is adopted is a kid though who gets to grow up with having two moms or two dads that get to show they're good loving parents, teenagers and older kids are in adoption centers too, they could easily have developed homophobic opinions, they might not be happy with two moms/dads.

Only the feelings of others in the community would impact negatively on that relationship ... I'd imagine ...
Um. In my personal experience, I think I was about 10 or so when I realised it wasn't a normal thing that I had two mums. I was a bright kid, too. Some communities, that kind of sentiment - anti-homosexuality - doesn't get in much.
So really the only reason I had for resenting it was the fact that mum's partner was abusive :shifty
who would be the "mother" and who would the "father"
