This is Squishy. He's actually my sister in laws and cat but I wish I could take him home with me. We don't know how old he is but he's still cute.

Yay! Sometimes white cats are deaf. They still make great pets, just a special need to keep in mind.

- [url]I got a kitty. His name is Roux. He's about seven and a half weeks old.
He likes my face.
I have no idea what it's called but my cat has that as well. You only notice it when she runs and it jiggles all over the place. I always thought it had something to do with when she got spayed (after that, we started noticing it) but if your male cat has it, maybe thats not it.

- I have a cat named Cisco who is almost 9 or 10 years old--his birthday is in a week or so--and he is very active. He has a little pouch, though. Does anybody know what that's called? He's not overweight or anything (he's big, but not fat), and he has this little pouch that wobbles side to side when he walks or trots. It's so funny. x) Anybody know what that's called?
Yep, you're right, castration is the same as spaying/neutering. Neutering is a term specifically for males, and spaying is a term specifically for females.

I've done some research here and there over the past couple of months, just out of curiosity, but I've never really considered the reasons until now. I think it's normal for a spayed female cat. For Cisco, well...he did have a castration, so it may just be neutering overall.
I do have a question, though, and I feel a little dumb for asking this: Is spaying and is castrations--are they the same thing as neutering cats?
