Alright y'all, I need assistance. Does anyone know how to identify cat breeds? I have this cat, Mocha, and she has this odd fur pattern. I'd suggest tabby mix? But the placing of her splotches is weird, and I've never seen a cat with that pattern. She's a gradient of black, dark brown, light brown, and white.

If anyone wants a picture, I'll gladly post one. But does anyone have any expertise? Thanks in advance!

P.S. If it helps, she has four kittens. Two are almost all solid gray, with some darker stripes like a tabby. One is gray with some lighter gray splotches. One is light brown with darker brown stripes. We've seen the dad around the neighborhood, he is solid gray.

I definitely wouldn't call myself an expert, but I can try to help. Could you post a picture?

@zeref Sounds like a calico or tortoiseshell pattern, judging by the colors.

My mom took me and my sister to the animal shelter down the road from us, and we ended up adopting a (now) three-month-old tortoiseshell kitten whose new name is Topaz. She's really sweet, but our dog scares her because he's so desperate to get to her (to play). This is a photo of her sitting on my chest last week.

It's actually been two months now, but she's still afraid of the dog. Sad But she can be in the same room as him if he's sitting down/held and she can keep an eye on him.

I really love cats Very Happy
When I was a child our family always had pets: 2 dogs, fishes, parrots, cats.
My favorite, of course, were cats. They are so sweet)) especially when they are little kittens
But unfortunately now I'm allergic with this little fluffy guys...so i just can dreaming about them. By the way, this one is my favorite https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Shorthair
What do you think about British Shorthair?

His name is dude. He's 13 pounds and a total douche. lmfao

Bella! Thor's spirit sister! Awww look at her.

This is my old boy, Jasper. He's literally the biggest asshole alive but I love him to death - even if he would literally bite my face off if given the chance, maybe especially because of that lmfao
    Image

And this is my little pudding, Thor. He's literally the sweetest little shithead ever. He likes to steal tissues and tries to eat pieces of plastic to keep me on my toes haha ahh i love the little jerk.

Oh no Sorry The loss of a kitty is the loss of family, and that pain never goes away. I hope she's holding up alright, though I doubt she's okay right now Sad

I dread anything happening to Bella, it'll kill me! She had him cremated so she can keep him at home with her. She also got the chance to adopt a little baby boy called Buddy, he's helping her heal a little :)

Me too with my boys. Jasper is starting to show his age and it terrifies me - though he's still a punk bitch that murders me with every stare tehe Sounds like my mum with Holly, she has a little shrine type set up in her study so she can sit with her when she needs alone time. It's a comfort to her. She wants Holly to be buried with her when it's her time.

Awww, little Buddy. That's cute. I hope they're helping each other. Kitties know how to heal hearts.

I like cats a lot, I was always more a dog lover but recently I've grown really fond of cats. My brothers brought home a cat, without asking my parents (hell was unleashed), but shockingly they let the cat stay almost two weeks before giving it back to the owners, and within a two week period I feel in love. Her name is Mama, and she was the cutest kitty I'd ever seen, so friendly and sweet and loved cuddles, so it was really heart breaking to give her back, now I feel I love cats more, ahah. xx

Every time Bella goes outside I fear the worst Facepalm I just need her to stay with me at all times #overprotectivecatmum lmfao

Buddy is adorable, I went to her house specifically to visit him and was like, oh hi to you, too haha.

    @ Beechrist.
I don't think I could have let the cat go :( I've always liked cats, but it wasn't until I got my furbaby, Bella, that I fell hard. Man, she rules my world lmfao
