Eating flesh and drinking blood are to WAY different things, and its as irrelivant as what i said about god.

And again, i don't think killing is ok, i never said that i did, in fact, i said i DIDN"T think it was ok, and i don't support that.
And i said that they didn't NEED it, but they choose to follow that religion. Plus, they aren't hurting anyone, and the people who do hurt people for this religion are disgusting, and yes its wrong.

Yes, eating flesh and drinking blood are different... yet similar.

You say drinking blood from a voluntary source is okay so long as it's for their religion.
So if it was me, and from a voluntary source would it be okay to eat human flesh for my religion?

If that were the case, and i have no idea who would volenteer for that, but yes i would.

But as i said drinking blood and eating flesh are way different. To eat flesh, it would be a painful process for the person being eaten, since your skin takes weeks to grow back, whereas with blood, well you produce 20 gallons of blood a day.

Yes, well it was just an example.

Out of complete curiosity, why do they drink the blood. What sort of purpose has it got?
Like ummm when you eat the bread and drink the wine in church, they re supposed to represent Jesus' blood and flesh.

Are you referring to actual Vampires or those who follow Vampirism?

    Those who follow it.
If they are following Vampirism as a religion then they are primarily, although I do use the term loosely, 'worshiping' Vampires.. so they therefore mold there lifestyle to that of the myths, literature, and so on. In this day and age though I think that movies play a big part of it.

Because Vampires drink blood, then they in turn drink blood.

This is only my opinion, but to be honest I think you would have to ask someone who actually practices it for a better answer.

Well if they're just aspiring to be like 'mythical vampires' wouldn't that make Vampirism more like a cult and less like a religon? Like kids who were convinced they were wizards after Harry Potter came out. Or like how some people decided to be Jedis.

You could look at it that way.

All in all they just chose to follow that way in life, so to speak. It's all kind of sketchy when you get down to on what the exact details are, and there's not much basis for a religion or a worship like aspect other than just drinking blood and sleeping in a coffin, among a few.

I think that it's start to come down to being either of two things; those who believe in Vampires, and those who want to be a Vampire.

Call me crazy, but I think the whole "I wanna be a vampire" thing is mainly teenage girls who wanna have Vamp-Sex with Edward now. They've gone way mainstream.

Might be the new take on it, but trust me it's been going on in that respect way before Stephanie Meyer even had kids.

I can't help but wonder... would Vampires still be such a big thing if MCR had called it 'Werewolves Will Never Hurt You', instead?

    Honestly, I don't have a clue.

Only because I watched horror films and Buffy when i was younger, way before My Chem was even thought about.

I think bands like My Chem, and HIM for example just fuel it a bit more, mostly completely unintentionally.

personally, I believe that every myth/legend has to be based on some sort of fact. How else would they have gotten started?

But for people to go try to become one, when it's something they're obviously not, that's just... not right.
