So you think Vampirism is ok, as long as Edward Cullen(a fiction character from a book) is involved?

As much as I would like vampires like the Cullens and the Hales to exsist, I do not believe they do and I'm certainly glad vampires don't exsist. =P

It's a nice thought, though. XD

I think that vampires are all good in the books and movies (well the movies where they are hot and sexy) but real life? No way. That's actually quite creepy to me.

I mean I like biting and stuff when i'm making out with my boyfriend, but a lot of people do. I wouldn't say that I like it when he brings blood and junk because, again, that's creepy to me.

So let's keep the vampires in the movies and the books, and let's keep them hot and sexy like Edward and the Cullens :XD

There will always be people like this- vampires, jedis, otherkin... Mostly they just keep to themselves, and while I find them a curiosity, they are a relatively harmless one. Unfortunately there are also those who use this kind of thing as an excuse to commit murders, etc. But such people are the minority, and their actions are not the fault of vampirism itself.

If people want to do whatever then that's fine by me. If you want to base your belief solely on fiction you admire (not that I'm saying this is the case for all self-titled vampires), then that would seem a bit silly, but then, there are also people who believe perfectly sensible things for equally strange reasons.

The only other thing I would say is that it sounds like a terrific way to catch diseases, but then, that is solely the business of the people involved.

If vampires were real, they would have a lot of STDs. But they wouldn't have a pulse, so that doesn't matter.

I think vampires, in a sense, are real. They lack something and need to feed off of something to gain it, right?...

...Have you ever heard of blood transfusions?

Well, there are still people who act like vampires... cults and such. And then there are those who believe they actually are vampires, pulse or no.

I suppose not everybody thinks they should be undead. It's really the looser definitions that give rise to most of these vampire movements.

I think that the people who believe that they're vampires need some help.

^ There are different defintions. If you believe you can transform into a bat, you probably could do with some help. Or then again, maybe not. But there are also people who pursue vampirism as a culture, by the ritual drinking of blood, etc. There are even vampire 'blood bars' - like cult nightclubs- where such 'vampires' can find willing victims.

I'm sure these people don't actually believe in Dracula, as it isn't necessary to believe in the paranormal in order to pursue vampirism as a lifestyle. As long as these self-titled 'vampires' are breaking no laws, then they are well within their rights. There will always be alternative groups and cults around- vampires, Jedis, sorcerors- it's all we can do to tolerate them and pray they don't get any blood-related diseases.

I personally have always liked vampires and stuff.
I don't care, but my mom flips out everytime I read a book about vampires or hear a song that mentions them. It's very interesting and I think the draw towards it is the romanticised aspect of the forbidden. But there comes the point where a line needs to be drawn, people have to learn to separate fiction from reality.

I think blood tastes good (at least my own), when I get scratches and stuff.
But.. That's taking it a bit far. One, murder is wrong, no second thoughts. And bathing in it? That's like.. ew. o.O

I'd love to be a vampire though. More in the sense of.. *thinks* Fallen From Grace (ur_beautiful; dead), rather than 30 Days of Night. xD

haha, I'd love to be a vampie.

I mean.. blood actually does taste good.. at least in my opinion. I've only tasted my own blood though, like when you bite your lip. It's a good taste.

But bathing in it? Not my idea of a good bath. And I don't like the idea of killing people either.
    Same here.

It's ridiculously silly. It was created to scare small children.

It's not exactly a religion, but many people who think that they are vampires would regard it as a religion.

Hmmm...Lots of arguments going round my head for this one.

At first I thought believing you're a vampire is about the same as thinking you're a unicorn. They're both myths, and both are mystical beings that quite a few people are fascinated with. But in a sense you can take something fictional and make it real. You can't get the powers, and you can't make everyone believe, but you can live the life you want to live. And if it's a vampire's life you want to live, then live it.

If people want to take part in rituals and it makes them happy, makes them feel they have a purpose, it sounds like a good idea. Just as long as nobody unwillingly gets hurt, and nobody is deeply offended by it, they should be able to go crazy.

I absolutly love the concept of vampires, but they only really work in stories. Real vampires that are technically dead but need blood to be 'alive' don't exist. Obviously. If they did I probably wouldn't like them quite so much...

There's always the cults, though. People who seriously believe they are vampires and drink blood and what not. My mums always been worried I'll run off with one, amusingly. Something along the lines of, "if you ever meet a boy who thinks he's a vampire and wants you to drink blood, don't go along with it." I'm just like, mum, I'm afraid of other peoples blood. Oh, and I'm not stupid.
