"Boys" and "Girls" Clothing

  • Like, 95% of my band shirts are guys, not for any preferences, but they are generally just easier to get hold of.

I do like that they're slightly longer though, and the neck thing doesnt bother me at all. I have this one girls shirt and the neck is huge, and that annoys me.

All my girl tshirts I sort of consider to be 'smarter' too, because they fit better.

Boy's tshirts are longer in the body, I find, and the sleeves are longer.
They're way comfier, besides the higher neckline, which is annoying.
Boy's don't have boob's that they need to flaunt, so manufacturers automatically decide that super high necklines are the way to go.

    No. They itch.

I wear, and buy a lot of "male" t-shirts.
I don't get it why the male band shirts always have to look cooler than the female band shirts :grr:.
Exactly how I see it. I love when they do one of each, like one for males and the sam design for girls, it's like they want boys to look better than us :grr:

  • I like man clothes.
I only buy long-sleeved boy t-shirts because the sleeves are longer and guy short-sleeves are so much bigger. I like tight-fitting short-sleeved t-shirts so I buy girls' ones. I buy a lot of boy shirts as well and I buy boxer shorts. I'm wearing them right now.
Though a lot of boy t-shirts have cooler designs on them. Same with t-shirts for babies. It's like, WTF! Do you want that two-year-old kid to look better than me? :XD

  • I find it so annoying that when girls wear boys clothing, no one cares because it really doesn't make a difference, but when a boy wears girls' clothing, people shit a horse out of it.
Why the hell does it matter?
Girls can have short hair, but it's odd for a boy to have long hair.
Girls can wear pants, but it's odd for a boy to wear a dress.
    Seriously.
    What...the...fuck? Disgust

  • I wear boys' and girls' clothes. It doesn't really matter to me.
I take shirts from my brothers all the time 'cause they have cool old Ghostbusters shirts and the like.
I almost always buy boys' band T-shirts when I buy band shirts.

  • A lot of band T's that I have are boy fit. The neck line is right up at your neck and that annoys me and they are looser.
It is cool sometimes but sometimes it annoys me.

  • I hate how a lot of tshirts you get for girls here are made of extremely thin, stretchy material and have extremely short sleeves.

I also can't get jeans from the girl's section, as they make them for girls with hips. I don't have hips so they're really loose around me and look stupid.

I like guy's clothing because it is generally more practical for me (more hardwearing for when I do horsey stuff) and it comes in better designs. I don't like the swirly pink designs or the tshirts with massive fluoro letters saying some random slogan.

I am generalising with the styles of clothes, however. But yeah. Guy's clothing is more my thing.

  • I love the way boys pants fit on me, and I usually like the way girls pants fit on boys. For pants, however, there really is a difference.

Man's pants tend to ride higher, have back pockets higher up (which, trust me, makes your butt look amazing), and have bigger front pockets. Also, Men's pants are often looser through the entire leg, which is better than girl's pants, which are usually really tight at the top and flare around the knee.

As for "boy's" and "girls" t-shirts? They're identical, girls often just wear a size down, and obys often wear a size up.

  • I used to like mens clothes a lot more. But I had a good heart to heart with my best boy-mate the other day. He was like 'it doesn't fit you and it doesn't show your figure at all'. Women's clothes accentuate your bodies more. They are made for smaller waists, wider hips and larger chests. I've stopped wearing ill fitting male shirts, unless they don't have the logo for womens. If I have to do that, I DIY them to make the neckline lower. (Watch Kat Von D's tutorial, it's amazing.)

But it does look cute on some people. I love women in men's work shirts. I only ever wore men's shirts as dresses anyway.

Boy's pants generally look good though. But only high quality, or else they are icky. I really like loose, low-rising pants, so men's are generally the only way to go. They are definitely the pants to have for pajamas. :tehe:

All this is just for me though. I'm a proper hourglass figure, so men's clothes wouldn't fit right.

  • The reason the buttons on boys shirts are a differest side from the buttons on girls shirts is because of sword fighting.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

    I don't mind wearing girl-cut shirts, I think I prefer guy-cut. I'm used to wearing them because I used to wear my brother's hand-me-downs a lot.

  • I'm pretty like.. small in stature (I'm barely 5'0" ) so I can't really wear guy's clothes, but the music apparel over here is extremely. limited. So I have to buy XS band shirts and shrink them in the wash before I can wear them.
It's annoying, as I have like 4 band shirts that are an S but come down to my knees. :cheese: I wear them as pajamas.

So.. yeah. I have to wear girl pants too, cause over here the style is all HIP-HOP and baggy. So guys jeans would... not fit on me. ><
Although I have to say, I buy guy's teeshirts sometimes. Zara Men had a CBGB tshirt once, and I wanted to get it like :cheese:.

Even so, I think I'd prefer girl's cuts more. I'm shaped like a girl, yaknow, and girl teeshirts are made for people with boobs. And also (I wouldn't know), but I think that guy's pants would have some space for their crotch, and... I don't really need that.
    :cute:

  • I think the difference is how they're cut and sized. I don't see why something should be for one sex or another, but I could understand a difference in the way they're cut since boys and girls are often shaped differently (ie- boobs, hips, etc.)

  • From First To Last:
I don't really care what gender my clothes were for if I were at Hot Topic or something, since most of the clothes there look like something both genders would wear. :shifty And I'm pretty sure that my Paramore t-shirt is for guys...but I don't really give a shit.
Yeah hot topic is for both genders.I'm a girl and i wear boy pants and my cousin wear tight girl pants, but his boxers stick out and they don't look good on him.

  • I like guy pants - not jeans, though. They just have a nicer selection of plaid and camo pants. Jeans, though, they have to be girls for me since I have very wide hips and I don't want to look washed out since guy's tend to be very baggy now. Girls jeans just look better on girls in my opinion. Plus, how to guys wear girls' pants? Doesn't their penis hurt? I mean, guys' pants are made so they have...room.

Shirt wise, I prefer girls. Guys are longer in the body and in the sleeves. I do have some band tees that are guys, yet they're so long they cover my pants pockets. Guys' shirts don't have any form to them. As a girl, I like to have shirts that aren't tight, but fit somewhat to my curves. Also, I have big boobs. Guys shirts cling to them in some brands since I have to wear a small in guys. Not comfortable!

I just don't like the flimsy material that some stores make their girls tees out of. They're so narrow, too!
This is why I shop at Target, JC Penny, and Angry Young & Poor. They fit my form perfectly.

  • I'm wearing a Guy's -shirt now
I own a fair few guy clothes
Some of them are actually more fitted than the girls clothes

I heard it was 'cause of breatfeeding originally - girl's shirts are easier for right-handed people to open or something. :shifty

  • Most of my band t-shirts are boys ones, and yeah, the neckline is higher.
I actually don't think they look good on me.
