My stepmom used to lecture me about writing "depressing" things. She said I should write about girls going to the mall. I told her she was an idiot.

    --

A few of my friends know I write (friends that I actually got to join Mibba) and they think I'm a really good author. But that's probably because their used to hearing people write about really stupid shit, because I'm not that good of an author. File My sister knows I write but I refuse to let her read it, because she finds something negative to say about everything I do and it sucks. Cry My parents don't know I write.

My mom knows I write, but she doesn't know what I write Facepalm

The only one of my friends that knows is my very best friend, and she's like, my biggest fan. My most popular chaptered fic on here is written for her, and I constantly go to her to look over my self-insertions to make sure that it sounds like me and everything.

She even convinced me to write a oneshot where James Maslow's character from BTR is in love with a palm tree File And dared me to write one where Logan Henderson is a stripper, which I'm still working on XD

My principal thinks that, and I quote, "Juliet, you're making a name for yourself starting with our school. I'd like to have a copy of your [NaNoWriMo] book and give it to the head of the English department, and once they clear it I'd like to order a few copies to put in our school library. I'm very, very proud of you."

And my math teacher, the little bitch who told my principal about my book, must think it's cool Grr tehe it's like, I'm angry but I'm not.

But I'm so nervous; how can I deal with knowing that every kid at my school will have the opportunity now to read my amateur writing? ::hfdkjghfskdjgdg:

I had a similar experience where I read a story I wrote in 8th grade {that sucked} to my class, but it was nice because the guys in class who hated me really liked my story and told me so. So it's normal to be worried, but I think it'll be fine. Especially since you're so good.

Thanks dru Arms I've just... I've never been so nervous. Only a few people at my school even knew I wrote before today. It's weird.

    ^ That's downright awesome.

I'm being extremely brave and I'm having my mum help me edit my NaNo so I can get the published copy. I really, really want it, but I also want it to be as perfect as possible, and she has no life, so it works. File I'm just scared to death of what she'll say about it Twitch

My family and a lot of my friends know I write, just not what it's about. I think after year eight I stopped showing my family, I just wasn't comfortable letting them read anymore. I have a few friends in real life who all write, but only a handful of them ever get to read what I write. I know a lot of really rude people who think they're the best author ever and that they're the only ones right...so generally not a lot of people see my work. XD

But from what I've shown people, they really enjoy it. They're always trying to get me to show it to more people I know, but I just don't know.

My mum and my old English teacher know I write but only my teacher has seen my work because it was part of my coursework. My mum hasn't seen anything since I was about eight.
I'm really really really really really REALLY self conscious about my writing and think I'm the worst author in the world. Cry
None of my friends or family are on Mibba though, so it's safe to post here. Rolling Eyes

I'm pretty much exactly the same way. My mum knows I write, but I won't let her actually read anything. I once had to write a story for English at my old school, and my English teacher thought it was absolutely amazing and insisted on reading it out to the rest of the class, while I sat outside the room in the corridor with my hands over my ears so I couldn't hear it because I was just so embarassed. XD They all applauded me when I walked back in though, so they must have liked it. Thankfully, now that I've changed schools nobody knows that I write. I've actually become so self-concious now that I won't even post stories on Mibba anymore, only poetry.

My Mum knows I write and I've given her a couple original stories here and there to read over and she always thinks it's great and she loves to read them, but I never show her my slash. There would be some that she would get, but others would just be beyond her. My Dad probably knows I write because of my Mum, but he will never see anything. Ever. It's weird, I moved out this year and what I'm most nervous about is the swearing. XD

The people in my creative writing class last year know I write and they all thought I was fantastic. It always between me and this other girl in my class for who had the best story. Everyone else wasn't the greatest, but they just hadn't had as much practice.

Two of my friends know I write. One of them actually wants to be an editor so I'll send her stuff to look over, she thinks it's pretty good too and whenever she writes, she'll ask me for my opinion. My other friend just knows, I talk about it but again, I would never show either of them my fanfiction. They make fun of me because I like Panic at the Disco, I can't even imagine what they would say if they knew I wrote fanfiction.

A lot of people know I write but most never read any of it. The only person who actually likes my writing outside of Mibba is my old therapist. She's the one that pushed me to start writing and no matter who crappy or dark it was she still liked it because it helped me feel better about myself. When I first started seeing her I couldn't talk about my feelings at all so she told me to make up someone and do it that way.

My family knows I write, they know I've written novels, but in general they haven't ready anything honestly. They're not really readers and if they read my stuff, they wouldn't really get through or really give much feedback.
My mother has a copy of my novel, but she hasn't read the whole thing. I don't expect her to either. Sometimes I try to have her read my stuff, but she doesn't fully take it seriously.

My friends are fully supportive. I have a few friends who write themselves, so we talk about our characters and plots and a lot of them have read my books. And they love my writing. They say I'm murderous with my characters and an action junkie. But, they love it.

I let my parents and siblings read everything that's PG and not fan fiction. If they want to. But the only ones who actually want to read what I write are my mother and grandmother. Sadly their English isn't that good and it's difficult for them to understand my stories and poems since 90% of them are in English.

Also some friends have read what I've written.

My mother and grandmother think I'm incredible talented but that's to be expected so I don't feel it says to much about the quality of my writing. Of course they wouldn't lie but yeah, you know. My friends think I'm very talented too but, again, they don't read much so yeah.

Friends and others on Mibba generally say I'm a good writer. So all in all I guess people think my writing is pretty good.

My brother told me this week that my favorite piece of his is It Just Looks Like Red Paint and that he would read it randomly when he still had Mibba.

Which actually frightened me slightly because it's a non-fiction piece.

I let my dad read The Exploder and he said it was great and would make a good children's book.
Maybe I should show him my stuff more often...I know he reads it (he's told me before), but he hasn't said anything other than thinking it's "edgy" and "inappropriate for a kid your age."

As far as I know, they're only two people in my family that know I write.
One is my sister, and I'm pretty sure she's annoyed with how much I talk about my stories and characters.
The other is my grandmother, and she knows I write, but she doesn't know what I write about.
I'm pretty sure my dad knows, since he managed to find something of my old stuff and told me he liked it, but he hasn't read any of my newer stuff (thank God, I'd never get my computer back if he or my mom knew about what I write about now).

I'm damn secretive around my family, and there's a damn good reason why I'm so secretive.
