^ I agree, my teachers seem one hell of a lot happier.
Well, I don't exactly have a basis for comparisson as I've never attended a public school, but from movies and from what people have said, public school teachers tend to be.. what's the word?
    More stressed?
I'm sure it's not the case in all public schools but I know that in my school, the classes aren't as big and the rules are more strict therefore the pupils are more controlable.

^^That is true and I've been to both public and private, and one thing I have to say about private Catholic schools is that they are a lot more fair and controlled. But not in all instances some Public schools are just fantastic.

It really does depend on the facultty, the facilities, the students etc that decide whether a public or private school is better than the other. However, it will vary depending on which schools you compare.

Never been to private school. Don't see a need to.
Public, Private. Not much of a difference, really.
Learning is learning, school is school.
It's all the same to me. -shrug-

^^But to parents it the facilities, the reputation of the school that make all the difference.
I only go to private because my parents want me to have a proper Catholic education.

I think the best schools are the really competitive ones, where -most- kids really want to learn and be better than their class mates -okay maybe it's some kids. I don't think it matters if it's a private or a public school, the students make all the difference.

Honestly I don't know I've only ever gone to a private school and I don't know what it is like there. But I wouldn't say that one is better than the other because there are alot of good public schools and alot of good private schools

It's funny, I've been reading reponses about not wanting to go to private school because of the uniform...
Well here in merry England, most schools choose to have a uniform. People would get killed otherwise...

^^We have uniforms here in Australia. There's no problem with it. I'm more comfortable in a uniform. :shifty

No offence but the uniform is a be trivial, I just honestly don't understand it. I'm probably being bias because I've had uniforms my entire life.

I like public schools because no UNIFORM, you can dress like who you are.
Sometimes public schools do have uniforms but not mine.

I don't think there is a difference in getting educated between public and private schools because if you want to get educated you can get educated in both.

    Me too.
That way I don't have people going. 'Oh my god, she wore the same top twice this month!'
Well, I'm sure that wouldn't happen, but still :XD

But doesn't that mean people are more likely to judge you on what you're wearing? With uniform you're all wearing the same thing, so it's really the person that counts. Not the appearance....:shifty

And I'm pretty sure all Australian schools, public, private, primary (like elementary) and highschool (both middle and high school) have to wear uniform.

The only 'school' you don't wear unifrom is pre-school.

I like uniform. It shows equality.

I go to a private, and it is a Catholic Girls school. I like it. Even if Religion is a subject.

Public is fine. I went to two public primary schools, so l lean both ways.

Both are good but for my preferences probably private. You get more work done and it's more controlled...

What does getting more work done and having things "controlled" have to do with going to a private school? Particularly the "getting more work done" part. How so?

^^ In a private school, the teachers care more for your education, therefore make you complete your work, as they have reputations to live up to.

    i.e. EAU's for year 12 HSC scores.

Also, more controlled, as in if something comes up i.e a bulling problem, it is dealt with quickly. They need control so that everything is running smoothly.

    That clear it up?

I think that the fact that they may "care more for your education" is debatable, to be honest.

That factor of caring is individualistic among teachers. A teacher is a teacher, and in my opinion, whether they work in a private school or not has nothing to do with their care factor for students.

And private schools aren't the only schools with reputations :shifty

Funnily enough, every state school I've been to has had teachers who cared about my education, had an excellent reputation as a school, been very good at stopping bullying and running smoothly at the same time. And I do get rather a lot of work done. But I am a fairly dedicated student, so the point I'm trying to make is that workload depends on how comitted the individual is. School can give you as much work as you want, but only you can actually do it.

I go to a public school, and my brother goes to a private school.
The education is a lot better at his school, although mine is known for great modern languages education..

But all my friends immediately think that whenever private schools are mentioned, that they're just full of posh kids.
What they don't know is that pretty much half my brother's school do drugs!

    Posh? No thankyou. :coffee:

Maybe that's his school. It differs from school to school.

I go to a private school and a lot of us try to posh but know we aren't and we'll admit that. Other private schools I know completely look down upon us.

I dunno, but some people in private have that "look." Can't describe it but it kinda of shows whether you're from a private or not. According to my friends from public schools anyway. I know the look. The higher up private schools give it to us.

I will not say that the education is better in each, because the teachers teach to the best of their ability but it's the student's decision whether they want to learn or just copy the answers. :file:

I rather go to public because they have a bit more freedom.
