My best friend has to touch her nose with the food she is about to eat.
    She's on mibba.
Who said mibbians weren't weird? ;)

Wow. OCD seems to be a bit of a problem here.
Well since basically everyone is giving out their weird habits, here are some of mine. xD

    1. When I'm eating dinner - this is only with dinner - once I have put the plate down I can't move it again. If I move it, I can't eat. It has to be in the same position.

    2. Outlet swithces. You know the ones where you plug elctrical appliances in? Yep, those ones. If nothing is plugged in then the switches have to be off. If they aren't it bugs me and I can't concentrate.

    3. I have to correct people on their bad grammar. It can sometimes get me in tight situations too....

    4. When I come across a word I've never heard or seen before I have to go and look it up to find the spelling, definiton and pronounciation. Then I must make sure I know what it means, how to spell it and can say it aloud. And my class mates wonder why I know more words than our teacher....

Haha. That's just a few, I'm sure I could bore you with a lot of other ones. xD

How do I know I have OCD?.
I do weird things, some things that are in this forum. Well, I wouldn't call them weird but just not normal.

Like everytime I eat a Monte Carlo I have to eat the outside crusty bits and then squeeze out the jam and cream and then eat.

Everytime I have chocolate I have to have milk after it.

And On my Mp3 folders and computer folders every picture and folder name has to be named with capitals and spaces.

And when I have a song stuck in my head I have to listen to it before I am happy again.

And sometimes I have to fix people on there grammer, though I don't really like doing and I have slowed down because I am bad at grammer.
Or If I crack one finger I have to crack all the bones I can before I am satisfied.

If I feel like I have been dominating my right or left side of my body then I have to use both sides evenly.

And I can't be messy certain things, they have to be even. Like arranging photos on a dresser etc...

you know if it starts to interfere with simple daily tasks, such as reading you can get medication for it. I know it seems a little unneeded but i hear its good.

My counsellor was the one who made me aware that i have OCD luckily for me it's not severe and i'm learning to control it. When i was younger it used to be a nightmare but i didnt know any different so i lived with it. But i totally know how annoying it can be sometimes when you just want ti be able to do something and you need to go through some whole big deal.

Whenever I am walking with somebody, I have to be in step with them. If I'm not, it drives me absolutely crazy. That counts, doesn't it? :shifty

It definately does sound like you have ocd.
I have ocd also, and it's horrible. But I'm doing therapy for it, and I'm about to go on medication for it, along with anxiety.
You do need to speak to a doctor :)
    It will be ok though.
Although there is no cure, you can learn to control it.

Some of my habits are really weird. Like all t.v.s in my house have to have the volume in a multiple of 5, if anything in my room is moved and I can't get it in the same exact spot I have to move everything else, I eat colored things by color in the order of my prefrence, I eat cereal in groups of 2 (2 peices at a time), my shoes have to be tied the same tightness and have to be tied twice every time, I have to leave to go somewhere 15 minutes before I have to get there (unless it's far away), I have to take the same amount of time between steps on stairs or I have to go again, I have to do this thing whenever I look at a digital clock where I add up all of the numbers, and there's more but they're pretty standard.

Wow, I should probably get this checked out... oh well.

^ One of mine is similar to that. The volumes on anything have to be an even number. The only way it can be an odd number if it's a multiple of 5, like yours. Otherwise, I freak out.

^^^The volume for me has to be a multiple of three. And when I eat cereal and anything small it there has to be a multiple of three pieces on my spoon. And when I eat something there always has to be the best one/peice/slice to my standard last eaten.

    Maybe I don't have OCD, but this is odd;
I can't have like 123 pictures on my iPod. Every row has 5 pictures, the row needs to be full. Or else I just go picture hunting.

You said "I have to read the line over and over."
That sounds like anxiety to me, I used to have that problem.
With me it was, I couldn't get in my brain what the words were saying.
They do have medication for that and it helped me a lot.

I really do think you should talk to someone about it!
Don't feel ashamed, a lot of people have the same problem you have!

I repeat music notes in my head, over and over.
I try to stop, but i tell myself - just a few more times, because it makes me really uneasy; i want to do it to get it over with, but i want to stop.

When I go somewhere, I have to stare at the place I just left; i always think I've left something behind.

I hate getting a shower, it makes me physically sick to think of what else is in there with me, and i try not to touch anything.

    etc etc.

    I don't think I have OCD, and i don't want to make a fuss.

I have to use the bathroom before I leave any where.
I also have to have my steps fall into the same beat as the person walking next to me (if that makes any sense).
And things have to be lined up perfectly for me. Like my computer mouse has to be lined up perfectly in the margin, or the stack of papers has to be neat.
But I don't think I have OCD. Maybe obsessive tendencies, but definetely not the disorder itself.

First off, I have OCD. I've had it since I was 8 so it's been about 6 years now. I have to touch things over and over again (including people) which, trust me, is not getting me many friends. I have to do things an even number of times except 3 or 5. I used to flip lightswitches on and off many times in a row. I used to have obsessive thoughts (which I hope to God you don't ever have). Sure it's hard to live with it, but it's definately possible. Talk to your parents and ask them to take you to a doctor. I take medication for it and it does help. The thing you have to learn is to not to let your obsessions control you. It's hard but I'm learning. And since I know this thought is going to come into your head: Yes, there are people out there who understand about OCD and will not judge you because you have it.

Keep in mind that everyone has a little bit of OCD in them, yet not everyone has OCD. But after reading your post, I think you might have OCD.

I hope the best for you. Good luck!

P.S. My name is Katelyn and I'd be glad to talk to you if you need me to.

I can't have 123 songs on my iPod, it has to be 124. It has to be an even number.

I can't wash my hair before I wash my arms.

That's just weird. There's probably more I can't think of.

I always think I have OCD. Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. I have about the longest list of phobias ever and there is much more.

Like I can't wear a zippered coat unzipped.

My CDs have to be in some kind of alphabetical order.

No one is allowed to touch the stuff in my room without putting it in the exact some place.

I won't eat anything that another person has directly touched.

I can't stand eating at restaurants for a multitude of reasons.

Each pen, pencil, and marker on my side table has a specific task and it can only perform that one task. (The pink pencil for drawing, the pink pen for marking my calender, the blue pencil for writing songs, the green for poems, and the red for stories)

So you could just cope, but if it's too unbearable then talk to someone and try to get some help!

I'm reasonably sure I don't have OCD, but I have strange habits!

    1. I twitch. Not like a muscle spasm where I can't stop, it's impulsive. I always end up hurting my neck because I'll twitch my head to the right, then the left, then the right, and on and on.

    2. I can't stand other people touching my things. They leave fingerprints, and they don't care when they leave my stuff not at exactly forty-five or ninety degree angles.

    3. I make lists. Of stuff I have in my backpack, stuff I have in my purse, tasks that need accomplished. And the list always has to have a multiple of 10 things on it. Otherwise I have to think of things to do, or put more stuff in my bag.

    3. If I scratch my left ear with my right hand, I have to scratch my right ear with my left hand.

    4. I always leave the mouse in the corner of the screen or line it up with a line on the screen.

    5. I always have to walk exactly in opposite step with people if I'm walking right beside people.

    6. I constantly bite the insides of my bottom lip. It's strange, but I still do it.

    7. I alphebatize soup in my pantry.

    8. My nails have to be a certain length.

    9. I blink in twos when I'm thinking about it.

    10. Odd numbers bother me immensely, and so does people leaving something that fell down just sitting there.

Haha, it would seem that obsessive-compulsive behavior is common with Mibbians!

    Hm.
    you should see a doctor.
i think i have like the tiniest case of ocd.
i used to have to check all the doors before i went to bed everynight, infact i'd have to check them 2 or three times even if i knew i had already checked them, but i dont do that anymore, i think that was just cause our car got stolen and that started my paranoia.

if i clean my room and i have perfume and other things on a desk, they all have to be neat, in a line all around the right way etc.

hm, if i turn the volume up or down on anything, it has to be a number like 15, 18, 5, 10, 20 etc, but it cant be 14 or 12.

i also have to read a line over a couple of times.

i hate odd numbers, nothing can be odd except for volume ^^^

sometimes when im sitting down my feet cant touch the floor, like i'll rest them up on something, i just hate them being on the floor.

Something else is, in winter i shake, even if im not THAT cold i'll start shaking, i can stop, but i wont.

i chew inside my mouth alot, my cheeks and my lip, i get this urge and i have to bite my cheek.

i dont know if any of that is OCD related, but yeah, just had to share.

It depends on why you do the things though.
There is usually a thought behind it.
OCD is doing something because of a reason.
EG. "If I don't check the door 5 times, my Mum might die."
^ My Mum has bad OCD, but she can control it now, and she helps people who have OCD and that's what OCD actually is. Like sure, people do have the obsessiveness, but OCD has a thought behind it.
