Concert Wear

  • druscilla's soul.:
    Quick question.

Going to see two concerts in the middle of July in Texas.
Are shorts okay for a concert?
I'm pretty sure it's going to be a very, very small venue. Maybe just a club.
And we'll probably be close to the front.
I know a skirt is a bad idea.
    Dude, wear whatever.
If it's a good show, no one will notice if your skirt goes up. And if it's a REALLY good show, then you'll be drunk enough to not care when it DOES go up ;D

Shorts are completely 100% fine. Especially in July, in TEXAS! It oughta be really boiling there. I wear shorts to shows in the dead of winter, I think you'll be fine (:

  • My best friend's making a shirt for a concert we're going to on Saturday. Apparently it has Pete Wentz's name and... Superman, complete with glow in the dark paint. I've tried to talk her out of it. Nope. I've told her I'm refusing to talk to her if she wears it.

    Kill me now.

  • I always dress really light, at one point, I will get hot. Being cold for a little is worth it.

I tend to lean away from skirts, unless they are over jeans, as they always end up either ripped or pulled down. I generally opt for some skinnies, old ripped ones, since its hot, a band tee shirt, hair thats up, fuzzy socks, and high top converse; Yay ankle support.

  • I usually wear jeans and a plain colored T-shirt. I wouldn't wear a band tee only because I'd probably buy one at the show anyway.

And sneakers. What annoys me the most is seeing these prepubescent girls at shows like Bamboozle and they're wearing sandals. Those are gonna get ripped off their feet in three seconds, guaranteed.

If they're prepubescent, they shouldn't be at shows unless its the wiggles.

You'd be surprised the age of the kids I've seen at some shows :omfg:

    That's why I hate going to shows. Apparently I'm "too young". I'm 12. :x

But yeah. I just wear Nikes.

My friends are those idiots who wear flipflops.

Now I'm even giving her $10 if she doesn't wear it.

There was six year olds at the Bamboozle road show.
    Wearing We The Kings/nevershoutnever! shirts.
    It was so funny.

Unless your going with someone older, brother or sister, friend, at least 16, you shouldn't be there. I don't know your town, but here, you'd be knocked out.

P.s. Tell your friends they're idiots.

Lol, that so doesn't happen here. Parents are to scared for their kids. Heavy moshing, beer all around. So not safe.

I told them they were idiots a long time ago.

But yeah. I usually go with my dad. He really doesn't care. I have gotten him to like All Time Low's music because of this, though...

    I hope that's a good thing.

They finally listened to me this time. Sneakers. :D

  • When I went to the PATD concert, I wore skinny jeans and a von dutch shirt...and a jacket. dont ask me why :XD
    May 28th, 2009 at 04:11pm
  • I wear comfortable jeans, because if I'm going to be moshing or dancing I need to feel comfortable.
Usually a short sleeve V-neck or something, with a hoodie, because it gets hot and afterwards it gets really cold. And my green converse. They've been everywhere. :Xd
    May 28th, 2009 at 11:21pm
  • I usualy wear mini-skirts, corsets, fishnets and platform boots :XD
And the surprising thing is that I feel extremely comfortable!

Of course there are other times that I just don't feel like dressing up or it's one of those concerts that you know you're going to get down and dirty AKA hardcore concerts and wear some plain skinny jeans, corset and my good old friend old stars or my misfits draven that kinda looks like vans xD

I only dress like that because I don't mosh I am terribly afraid of falling and get runned over.
    I'm such a pansy :lmfao

  • summer: shorts, tank, good shoes NEVER flip flops UNLESS i know im going to like be in the lawn or something like that but thats completely different

winter: see i used to be one of those people who didnt want to wear my jacket because i didnt want to carry it inside but im one of those people who are usually there like 12 hours early when its one of my faves but i suggest you bring a warm jacket it might be a pain but it will be worth it in the long wrong

example of what not to do: ive seen some pretty stupid outfits for shows before like bad but this was by far the most idiotic thing i had ever seen last december i went to see bring me the horizon it was snowing all day and as i was leaving the show the snow had accumulated to a couple of inches and it was still coming to girls thought they were cute slipping around in the ice in heels, skirts, and tank tops not a jacket in sight what is wrong with people?!
    May 29th, 2009 at 05:15am
  • I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt/tank top with my converse.
If I'm wearing a skirt, I'll wear leggings underneath (I didn't once, but it was a Halloween show so that's my excuse :XD).

I made a shirt for one show I went to, but I don't regret it at all :XD
I bought a white t-shirt and spent like 4 hours drawing and writing lyrics and the band names on it in permanent marker. It was fun.

If I'm going to be waiting in line outside for a while, then I'll usually bring a jacket. If not, then I don't bother because I hate having to hold it in GA.

The most frustrating aspect, I think, is what bag to bring. I can't fit my camera, phone, money, merch etc. in my pockets so what do you guys usually do about a bag?
    May 30th, 2009 at 04:23am
  • ^I usually keep my phone and money in my bra  and keep my camera in my hand with the strap wrapped around my wrist. I hate taking bags and if I kept them in my pocket I'd be afraid of losing them.

If it's in the Barrowlands/Carling /SECC/Classic Grand I usually just wear skinnies and a top, but if it's in Oran Mor or Royal Concert Hall I usually dress a little bit smarter in leggings and a tunic or something like that. Not sure why...
    May 31st, 2009 at 07:42pm
  • Haha.
I'm going to a MGMT concert next month at a small venue.
And i think im gonna wear a white tshirt with jeans and my yellow converse. XD
im not going to impress anybody.
