I don't really know, I just watched, "The History Of Singapore" in Discovery Channel and I think I liked their prime minister, Lee Kwan Yew. I'm not sure about that yet. I also like my country's national hero, Jose Rizal. Just like any other hero, he died for my country. How heroic! :cute:

I don't know why. Maybe it's just because of the Doctor Who episode The Girl in the Fireplace, but I do love the real person as well.

There're more, but I can't think of them right now.

    Alan Turing.

He was one of the codebreakers enlisted in the WW2 effort for Britain, he worked at a place called Bletchley Park where they used to obtain messages sent by and intended for German officers, coded ones, and decode them. It was harder than it sounds, because the Germans used something known as the "Enigma" code and... well, without being too detailed, it was incredibly complex and hard to crack. But Alan Turing was a total genius, a visionary imo, and he came up with a new way of working it out and invented things and generally just did more than his fair share. He was a real war hero- and then after the war ended, it came out he was gay and he was castrated for it. A true travesty... especially as he was castrated by injection of female hormone, which would have messed up his entire body. He killed himself two years later. He was a real British hero and I hate that the very government he worked so hard for destroyed him.

They have recently released a public apology though, which is something.

So agreed. I'm fascinated by her. That whole way of life, and how it wasn't really their fault - everything about the French Revolution is really interesting.

I recently did a history project on Joan of Arc, and... well, I don't want to say I fell in love with her, because, I didn't, and that sounds pretty creepy anyway.
But... as I learned about her, and what she stood for, I grew a really deep respect for her, and her boldness, especially.

She was incredibly brave, a warrior for God, and all of this by age 17.
    I wish I could've met her.

    too much.:
It has to be either Jack the Ripper, or a pirate.
Jack the Ripper just seemed cool, despite what he did.
And pirates, pirates are just extremely awesome.
Jack was epic! First recorded serial killer! Though most children don't know about him anymore Cry

My favorite has got to be Otto von Bismarck followed closely by Catherine the Great of Russia and Fredrick Wilhelm I of Prussia. Epic leaders, all three of them!
