Paper or Computer?

I tend to write at least the first chapter of a story on paper, so I have notebooks full of parts of stories. I find when I have writers block it helps to change my medium, so if I've been writing on paper for a while and nothing's happening I'll switch to the computer and vice versa.
It all depends on my moods really.

I prefer computer. It's odd really. When I type my thoughts and ideas seem to flow better. I also hate the extraneous task of coping everything from paper to electronic. I also change everything that was written on paper when I type it.

I do write things down in a notebook. Mostly because I don't have a computer. I love my hand writing but the graphite and ink that goes on my hands is a hassle all on it's own.

Basically, the keyboard on a computer is easier to use and for me faster to type on.

I love typing on the computer because I can easily press the 'backspace' button if I've made a mistake, which is easier than grabbing an eraser or using white-out. I can also type faster than I can write.

Though I do like to write in notebooks whenever I'm not on the computer. It won't get lost because lined paper doesn't crash or lose memory. =P

So I don't really prefer one over the other. Hmmm. They have their good points and bad points. :]

    It depends on the story.

    thread revival. :)

I've done both. I wrote out a whole story in a notebook and in the end it was exhausting sitting at a desk writing, having to sharpen your pencil over and over again and knowing you couldn't really go back and edit stuff much. So I prefer computers, even though it's pretty annoying on word having to scroll down to the bottom.

I can do both, but paper to me is always the rough draft. I'll have most of it on paper, but when I'm typing it up, I'll edit it as I go and add even more to it.
I prefer writing on the computer, but writing on paper gives me the rough draft for the chapters, so both?

Paper first. I like to capture my unconcious mind when I'm falling asleep.

Computer. Sometimes if I can't use one then I'll get some paper out and write down whatever's in my mind. I do a lot of character and plot development on paper as well so I've got random pieces of plot floating around my room all the time.

I definitely prefer paper first. I tried to type a chapter straight instead of writing it out first and failed miserably. It took a lot longer for me to come up with anything.

On paper, it flows so fast that time flies and my hand starts to hurt with all the writing I do at once. I add/change things as I type it up.

Not only that, but I always have to go somewhere (class, work, etc.) so writing it on paper makes it easier for me to work on it wherever I go.

    Computer, definately.
I don't know how anyone can stand writing on paper. My hand gets incredibly sore after a few pages and I can't change anything. That and it takes so much longer to write a word than it does to type it so I'm more likely to get everything down if I'm typing.

If I'm not near a computer and I want to write something, I either do it on paper or in my phone. I do reccomend computer though.

^ Well, that's kind of the point in typing it up after you've written it on paper. To fix any mistakes.

Ah, I hate when my hand get's sore. And I think I'm more likely to finish a story on the computer than in a notebook.

I like both, but I prefer typing to writing. I mean, sometimes I can write in good amounts on paper. But usually things just seem to flow better if I type. I'm thinking of switching how I do things and doing rough outlines typed and re-writing it in more detail on paper because I don't have a computer within reach everyday. So, hopefully I'll find paper as a better outlet.

I always use the computer. I can't stand everything being a mess and sometimes it's unreadable. My hand gets sore as well, and I can get ideas down on the computer much faster, so that I don't forget them.

Sometimes, when I can't be bothered to turn on my computer, like just before bed for example, I'll write down maybe a few ideas if they hit me, but I won't normally.

I normally draft on paper, finish on computer.
There was one time I wrote a whole one-shot on paper, it ended up twenty A5 pages, and I really can't be bothered typing it up.

Truth be told, I write mostly everything on paper, then fix it up as I'm typing it.
It seems so much easier that way.

I used to handwrite stories alot. I'd take a notebook to work, and because I was just manning a small shop on a Sunday, I was able to write when there were no customers in.
But recently I find it hard to write on paper, because when streams of ideas come I can't wordspill and then edit afterwards. I type faster than I write. tehe
