I'm trying to think how they ended the last 2 seasons...I know season 2 was Bill being kidnapped, but I can't remember the season one finale for the life of me.:

I am just so happy NFL season is starting back up, because I would go insane if I didn't have something to fill the void True Blood is going to leave. (Then again knowing me I'll be looking for casting news and filming notes. I have no patience what-so-ever.)

Actually, at this point, knowledge of the books means nothing. The whole batshit crazy Russell thing isn't even in the books.

Butbutbut fourth book! As long as it leads to the general plot of the fourth book, I'm fine.

I do love the Russell and Eric plot, I admit. A lot.

^ I am so nervous about book 4 vs. season 4. To me it seems like the set up isn't really there for the show to go the same direction as the book.
But I heard a rumor that Hallow is already confirmed to be a part of next season!

I wish they would have expanded more on the Weres. To me the seasons are too short to handle vampire politics, new supes, plus all of the additional plotlines...and I was so bummed Sookie didn't get up and dance on the bar with Tara.

And, they'd better not ~magically kill off Russell or something. I want him in season 4.

I just skip around until I get to the good parts; the other bits are so dull. I can barely watch them.

The thing that kills me about the side stories, is that they never seem to mean anything! Like that creepy chick Holly, we know she's up to something but they are going to drag it out until next season. And unless she has something to do with THE storyline from book 4, I don't really care.

I just have to ask...was I the only person who was hoping Pam would rip that dumb stripper's throat out? I was stunned, I always saw Pam to be like a ninja badass in great shoes.

Although I can't figure out how they'd be able to bring him back since he's obviously met the true death. I wonder if maybe Eric sees a vision of him as he and Russell are burning...?

I just assumed it would be a flashback, but a vision seems possible too.
