If you could rewrite any work of fiction, what would you do?

I've always hated the way that Pleasantville ended.

I wanted David to stay in Pleasantville, with Margaret (his girlfriend). I never quite understanded why he went home.

    I disagree.
    You'd do a good job.

    Also, the end of Charmed.
It just seemed too fairy-tale like.
Infact, the last few seasons weren't all that great.
    I still liked them though.

Probably every Stephen King book ever written. :file:
In my opinion that man does not know how to
write an ending. Especially some endings are
frankly laughable. I don’t remember the title of the
story anymore but it was about a few people who
got stuck in time at an airport and they had to get
back to present time because otherwise they’d
cease to exist. It was a good story up until the end.
When you found out what it was that was eating
the past tense. It was giant, bouncing balls.
With mouths. And they were chewing away.
    I mean, Packman anyone?
So yeah, I’d definitely change that and write
something that’d actually be scary. x]

Not that I actually like Stephen King stories. :XD
But he has some good ideas. If only he could
execute them well it could be awesome.
So I'd love to take his ideas and rewrite it. :con: :tehe:

That sounds amazing, actually. I read a Dean Koontz book where a giant primordial blob was invading a town to eat all the people. The 6 out of town people were having fun running around trying to kill it. Such a ridiculous book.

The ending of Cell by steven king made me want to stab someone.

The ending of my sisters keeper by Jodi Picoult was awful too. Wonderfully sad... but really evil.

The Dark Tower by Stephen King

I mean, The endings for 1-6 were fine as they went into their sequels

    But the last one?
I'd use a lot of cuss words to describe my hatred of it

I hated it. Didn't suit the series. Huge disapointment.

Who the hell ends a book with "He realsied with horror he'd been there before, he'd been to the tower many times or whatever it was, only to go back to the first line of the first book?

YOU'D THINK ROLAND WOULD HAVE LEARNT NOT TO OPEN THE DOOR BY NOW :finger:

Or that if he took Jake to save King's life he'd die, and that Eddie would get shot, and that if he screwed that demon he'd give poor Suze problems over and over and over...

Those poor people just live on a loop :lmfao

And The Lord of the Rings. I'd totally change the ending.
Or not the ending as much as the last line.
I really don't like Sam having the last dumb word. :XD
Because it's dumb and was a total letdown. xD

    What sounds amazing?
Changing the giant bouncing balls with teeth into something scary?
Or the giant bouncing balls themselves? :XD
Isn’t that a movie as well, “The Blob” or something? xD

If I had Gabriel Garcia Marquez's talent I think I'd keep writing One Hundred Years of Solitude so that it reached a ridiculous number of pages. Because I really loved that book. ;_; I think I'd make more books longer, I don't think I mind a certain kind of endings, just endings in general because they end books. Some books should be infinite.

They did make a movie... called Phantoms. It was also really bad.
Yeah, the giant bouncing balls with teeth are pretty awesome sounding. Cheesy... but awesome. Of course, I haven't read the story... so I have no idea how it fits into the plot.

Ah, right. Yeah, I can imagine. xD
I'm going to refrain from making a comment on that.
Well, the balls are what are eating the past.
And there's a group of people stuck in “yesterday”
or something like that and they keep hearing this
dreadful sound and they figure they have to find
a way to get back to the present before they
stop existing. And this sound's really creepy and
you're all excited to know what it is that's making
this horrible noise and it turns out to me
bouncing balls with teeth. And that’s basically it. :cute:
The thing is, this noise is really eerie and creepy
and the whole story is scary only thanks to that.
And it turns out that Giant Packman With Family
    is what's causing the noise.

Maybe you'd have to read it, I don't know.
Maybe we just have different expectation
on a horror story. All I know is that I'd
rewrite that part of the story for sure.

Even if I had remembered the title I read it in Swedish. x]
So it wouldn’t have done much good anyway.

Yes, I completely agree with you.

I agree with everybody who's said Harry Potter.
That whole '19 year later' part was just.. urgh, I don't know. I didn't like it at all. I think she got a little lazy with it.
