Fandom Spotlight: Supernatural

Supernatural is an American television show that has been around since August of 2005. It follows two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, as they cross the United States hunting demons and ghosts, searching for suspicious supernatural activity. When CW first released the show, it became obvious that is was going to amass quite a following for many different reasons. The show has action, suspense, and tremendous amounts of mystery, and those things, combined with the very handsome leading men, created the perfect formula for a following so powerful it could take over both the natural and supernatural world!

Story Recs

Wonderwall (PG-13) is a fantastic fan fiction that includes both of the Winchester boys. In this story, Iris McGinty teams up with Sam and Dean to stop an evil force lurking in the shadows, but there is much more to the case then they originally thought, and it turns out to be more difficult to solve than they originally expected.

Revelation (PG-13) is an amazing story that strays away from the typical romance with the Winchester boys. In this story, Sam and Dean learn that they have a younger half-sister, Leanne, and have to protect her as part of a deal, but when she gets closer to a dangerous man, who goes by the name of Michael, they realize the task is going to be even harder than they thought.

Amplified (R) is an incredible story that takes place during the first season of Supernatural. In this story, the Winchester brothers meet up with Aiden Walker, a young girl who is in a situation fairly similar to theirs, and the three of them band together, because they know better than anyone that there is safety in numbers.

From the Fans

"This show is, simply put, interesting to watch. Every episode the Winchesters have to fight some new form of evil, and deal with a new personal challenge. The characters develop so well, and you easily become attached to them. After an episode or two, you're sure to want more." - takahe.angel

"I really love Supernatural because the characters seem real to me, not just something forced for a camera. I feel a real connection to the characters, like with Dean needing and missing his father, Sam feeling like there's more for him than what his family has laid out, and Castiel in his never-ending search for God and what's right. I also love Supernatural because it will never cease to amaze me how seamlessly the first five seasons flew together, with connections all over the place. Overall, Supernatural is very much one of my favorite shows and I'll stick to it till the end." -champion;

"Why do I love Supernatural? Have you seen Jensen Ackles [Dean]! LOL, just kidding, but besides the hot actors, the characters they play are amazing. Supernatural is such a strong show. It brings out the emotional side of the person watching it. Everything that Dean and Sam go through makes me respect the sibling bond. They are doing an amazing job with the show and It draws me in every time, with every episode. The show it self is an extremely emotional show. What's not to love about Supernatural? There is a huge change in both Sam and Dean from season one to season eight and I love it." - albluserose

This fandom, which has so much to offer, is always looking for new people to call Supernaturalists, so next time you hear something go bump in the night, consider calling Sam and Dean to take care of your freaky problem and wake up all the parts of your brain that are just dying to fall in love with these boys.
