MM Reviews: From Fat to Skinny
There are several ways to become friends with someone in school. You can sit next to them in a lesson and end up talking to them to the point where you like them, you can be forced onto someone at the beginning of the year by that kind of teacher, and there is also the way of joining an after-school club - or even in-school club - and meeting your future friend that way.
For Marcus Midler, his way is slightly different - yes, it happens within a class but he doesn't sit next to her, or even gets assigned to work on a project with her. No, he becomes friendly with the girl - Ricci - in his P.E class, not because they both hate the sports, but because he thinks that she is amazing with how enthusiastic she is in their lessons, despite being what he defines as chubby.
However, soon he starts to notice things about her that are slowly starting to change, but this change might not be entirely good.
Currently sitting at sixteen chapters, From Fat to Skinny is shaping up to be a gripping story. With each chapter not having a default word count - with one even having been only five words! - it is clear that CuppaJoel is straying away from the average 'acceptable' length of a chapter in order to make each part more effective. Too many words would ruin some of the chapters, and with the one that only contains five words, any more and the effect that it had on the reader would not have been so great
This is truly a good read, and one that doesn't take too long to catch up on. So if you're looking for something that gets updated fairly regularly and doesn't contain extremely lengthy chapters, From Fat to Skinny is perfect for you.
