She turned those away who insisted on hurting others; those greedy sons who wanted their father's money, the barren, jealous women insistent upon poisoning their sisters' babies.

Ved’ma – witch. An accusation that can destroy lives, cause people to become alienated and incite mass hatred in a singular figure right across the globe. In years gone by, there are records of witches being persecuted and ostracised from society, forced to live their lives in hiding from the world. For most, a phrase like ved’ma would be one that could ruin an entire existence.

Ved’ma, however, is a phrase that suits Inna just fine.

Inna lives on the outskirts of society – helping those who ask for it and forsaking those who wish to inflict harm on others. She works with humans to allow them to protect their kin, and is shown to hold power that others can only dream of. Most of all, she works alone – but this has not always been the case. Before it was just Inna, it was Inna and Rabe, a male sorcerer who is shown throughout to be incredibly important to Inna. However, a tense encounter with him leaves Inna shaken, and leaves readers wondering what will happen next.

Ved’ma is a refreshing breath of air to stories on Mibba, and incorporates unique settings, languages and an invigorating plot that will have you hanging on to every last word. In just a few short chapters, alexander bernadotte leaves readers wanting more with her enchanting writing. Within the pages of Ved’ma, you will find strong characters and intriguing backstories weaved effortlessly throughout a storyline that promises punch from the very first word.

Currently standing at just three chapters, you can easily to get hooked onto this tale of mystery and intrigue. If you're looking for a story that includes magic mixed with beautifully dark undertones and a writing style that will leave you breathless, then Ved’ma is for you.
