Writing With: nymph

nymph is an active Mibbian who specializes in adventurous and romantic stories. She is here to tell us a bit about two of her stories: Little One and Falling Stars.

Little One

Little One is the amalgamation of a ton of different fantasy stories, put together in one fantastic story. Mouse echoes this, saying, “I decided I wanted an epic fantasy story with a strong female role and I had a million ideas for different fantasy plots, so I decided to squish them all into one super-wild story!”

The story follows three characters, Stella, Peter and Alan, and the intricate ways that their paths cross in a fantasy-filled world. When asked which character has a special place in her heart, Mouse says, “I don't normally find the main character to be my favorite, but in this story, Stella is definitely my #1. She's a very headstrong character who likes to have her way with everything, even if it means picking fights that she knows she probably can't win. Despite that impulsive side of her, she will always put people she cares about first.”

In line with the intricacy of the story, Mouse’s favourite part of the story is “all the subplots that will be going on within it. While I have only been able to put up three chapters thus far (I'm working on a buffer of chapters so I will be able to post an update regularly, even if I don't have the time), I have a majority of the story outlined and there are going to be a lot of new characters introduced with their own stories and adventures.”

When asked about the future of Little One, she states that “as of now, I'm trying to keep my focus on being able to finish this story. However, I do have a plot that extends far past what I have planned for this story in particular, so I do plan on having a sequel or two if I stay on track of where I am.” Meaning that we can look forward to much more of this wonderful story in the future!

Falling Stars

Falling Stars is a fantasy story set in another galaxy, where humans and rebels of the Centarius Galaxy are no longer seeing eye to eye. “My co-writer, aurora borealis, and I are constantly coming up with so many story ideas we want to write that we can hardly control our excitement and end up with long lists of stories we plan to write in the future. We decided we wanted a story that was both science fiction and fantasy, so we decided on combining them and creating characters inspired by the Elizabethan era and setting them in a distant galaxy with lots of futuristic technology.”

When asked about her favourite character, Mouse says she has a soft spot for the kind king. “My favorite character would have to be King Gerald, who is the father of one of the main characters, Julian. While his role in the story isn't too big, he's a very lovable character. He sees the good in everyone right away, and he's such a welcoming and open person that it's really hard for anyone not to like him.”

Mouse points out that her favourite part of this story is actually not a part of the story itself, but instead is working with her co-writer. “She and I just work so well together. We're constantly talking about the story and coming up with new ideas for it, and it's fun to come up with detailed backstories and potential futures for the characters, even if it is never mentioned in the story itself.”

As for future plans, Mouse says that this particular story is finished, but the journey is not over for these characters! “This story is actually completed, but we do have a sequel for it in the works called Red Sun Rising! It has been put on hold for the time being so we could have a chance to plan it out a little more, but we're pretty much set to start it again very, very soon.”

As for the person behind the stories, Mouse is an active Mibbian, mainly in the story section, who has been around for quite a number of years – about 7 or 8. Her favourite things about the site are “how friendly everyone on Mibba is, relative to other websites I've been on. Everyone is so eager to read and write, and the feedback I get is always so helpful. People definitely seem to understand the difference between constructive criticism and straight up criticism around here, and that is awesome.” Her dedication to the organization of her stories is very admirable, “I usually don't write unless I know what I want to do and get really excited about it. I'm the sort of person who plans and outlines everything before I can write it, because without that organization, I tend to abandon stories.”

If you’re looking for some fantasy adventures to escape from reality for a little while, these stories might be just what you’re looking for!
