I am a very caring person, I guess that is sorta because of my faith. It teaches me to be the best person I can be. I care for all. Everynight I pray for EVERYONE in the world (including myself) and ask God to help everyone with their needs and lead them down the right path.

I am easy going as well. I have a motto for life... it is this... "It's ALL good"! That keeps me to have a positive outward view on the world and the people in it, no matter what their flaws are. I have some to so as I enjpy saying and living... "It's ALL good"! :]

yeah, something like that. I mean, although I am an atheist my daughter has been baptized, and she will attend church and Sundayschool. I feel that even though I do not believe in the faith or religion, there is no reason why she can't have the option or the choice to make that decision in her life. Once she's had communion and has been confirmed, she can decide wether or not she wants to continue in her beliefs. As for me, you'll only catch me at church on x-mas.

Ok, sounds good. I will maintain my beliefs, but yeah you sound like a pretty cool person. Have you read any of my articles for my column? Are you Catholic? I will not hold you to the kid thing. THat would be none of my business anyway. I appreciate that you accept my beliefs... and I like you so far as a person, but as your friend is the sae way, I will feel bad for your soul! :]

i apologize for offending you, but i stick to my guns about my opinion. I'm not talking about EVERY SINGLE hateful thing in the world. I'm talking about the major events, like the ones i mentioned, where hundreds of thousands died because two religious beliefs clashed. Instead of seeing each other as human bengs, they see the catholic and the protestant, they see the christian and the jew, or the muslim. Hitler did kill the jews for an apparent blindsided reason, prejudice and bitter anger because he blamed them for the loss of world war one and the crippling of the german empire. He was also part jew himself, his father used to beat him and his mother just for the fact of being jewish. Only difference between racism and religious prejudice is this, skin color and spiritual beliefs. people should not go and do something nice because "it's the christian thing to do". how about doing it because it's the HUMANE thing to do, because it's the right thng to do. Too many ppl try to "buy" their way into "heaven" by doing things just for that sake. If you bse your morals and principles off of the prospect of getting into heaven, you have no values.

Exactly. Things change as you get older, particularly beliefs and attitudes, and shaming women and girls for the shape and/or color of their bodies, or how they express their ownership of them, or what they do with them is ridiculous, not to mention damaging.

(Did you see that story a few days ago? This... there is no word strong enough for this jerk, but he chained his daughter to her bed for eating peas and corn, because he wanted her to weigh 140 instead of 165. And she was a martial artist. I'm still alternating between spitting mad and utterly horrified.)

Anyway, I'm sorry. That sucks. Here, have a cookie. :)

Well, I mean, obviously it's your choice and there's no shame in choosing to make or keep (or discard) that promise. My problem was with the general attitude of my church that refusing to promise not to masturbate was shameful -- i.e., that you weren't permitted even that degree of ownership of your own sexuality.

Cool. Yeah, that sounds about right. Funny story: the catalyst for my actively rejecting it was when I was about 12, at a service targeted at preteens. The guy preaching -- I think it was a deacon, but I'm not sure -- asked all the kids in a certain age group to stand up and repeat after him. It turned out he wanted us to promise never to masturbate. Even at that age I was very big on my body being my business and nobody else's, so I was... kind of comically outraged. XD

Thanks! It's nice to know people find my comments useful. :)

No, I'm not religious. (My mother tried to raise me Catholic. Didn't take. *g*) One of my major parental figures is both Christian and homophobic, so I pretty much had to learn to counter homophobic/heterosexist Christian arguments without blinking if I wanted to avoid feeling unwelcome around her.

I am not the same way with bisexuals as I am gays. I think that they are just partially wrong, because you are doing what right in being with a boy, but honestly in my opinoon you would be doing wrong if you were with a girl. So honestly instead of limiting yourself to same sex relationships, you will go wither way depending soully on the person. Which in my opinion is fine, but I would just strongly encourage you to be totally starit, but that is because I am Catholic, so really no offense, but I think that any praticing gays or in other words same sex relationships are wrong.

Hey, I was wondering if you could offer some advice...
I have a friend who I'm pretty sure is an 'extreme extroverted personality' like you discussed in your article. It affects everyone around her as well, and is there anything I can do to help her out?

it's not that i hate myself, i just look in the mirror and am just totally disgusted. which i believe falls under that category of feelings of self-hatred. I refuse to look at myself after a shower, only because my image makes me want to punch the mirror for showing me such a site. And if not that, cry until there's nothing left to cry but the very blood in my veins.

i guess i'm a "sufferer" and i do believe that it did come from within, thank you for pointing that out.
