  • You are very right, and all concerts are different, even the ones form the same band on the same tour, each crowd is different too, and therefore each opinion formed is different, some people love what others hate and vise versa.

I saw Metallica a few weeks ago and it was bloody brilliant, one of the best days of my life, no exaggerating needed. The effects were amazing, they had things that i never thought could be achieved in a live concert. The songs they had chosen all flowed together perfectly, they had a good selection, not just from one CD, ( they also happened to include the majority of my favorites). And James interacted well with the audience, little funny comments here and there in reaction to something a person shouted etc.
The only thing I would have said was for them to interact a little more with the crowd between songs, because Hettfield is a funny guy and it made it seem more personalized, more real. Others, of course, may disagree with me.

    Yay for you :)
I use Safari, I haven't actually viewed my profile in firefox because I know the two are similar, but i viewed it in IE and Opera and I wasn't impressed. I only find it hard with mibba layouts to make each browser view the profile similarly.

Nothing to be jealous of here, honestly, I'm not too good at photoshop or dreamweaver yet, but I'm working on it. life would be easier if i had fireworks and illustrator though.
But the layout was just a bit of experimentation gone right.

Thanks, I will honestly try and get it done once i have free time, but keep reminding me, 'cause I forget things a lot. Don't be subtle or anything, just say 'remember my layout!!' or something along those lines :)

No problemo, It helps me practice :)

  • I agree, word spreads too, so if one concert is bad a whole lot of people will know about it. Yeah, I also agree there is an acceptable amount of difference in sound, obviously the exact environment and equipment of the studio can't be replicated whilst on tour, and I realise that at times there will be improvisation and sometimes where there may have been a special effect on the album, they will lack one on stage and may add an extra note or two or go a pitch higher etc.
Bands that can't perform well live to tend to gain a lot of haters and a reputation of being fake, sometimes it's true, sometimes they just haven't perfected their live performance. But a reputation can be built for years and destroyed in a split second.

Thanks very much, I'm pretty sure it doesn't look as good in all browsers, i tried other browsers on my PC but they tend to mess up a bit. I made it in Safari, so It probably looks best using it (or mozilla - because I find them similar).

I liked the 2.0 forma better, but I joined the dark side and changed 'cause I got bored of it. Cool, I'll keep it subtle :D
I'm not sure how long it'll take though, sorry. I swear, whenever I have a free moment I'll look over codes and work until I'm happy with yours :)

  • Yeah, the crowd at metallica was amazing, other than a few cases, it was like everyone shared a moment and put all differences aside, it was great.

I think that bands that use a lot of effects in the studio in their album would find it difficult to reproduce the sound on stage, I mean, if you've honed your album to perfection, then unless it's all talent, then you can't get it the same of stage, right?

wow, I'm honored you asked, thank you.
I'll give it a go, I've never done a myspace layout before, but after I take a look at the way other layouts are coded, then I'll attempt one for you. I can't guarantee that it'll be perfect, but I'm happy to give it a go.

I take it you want the 'nightmare' cover on it?
Any preferences to other details, like the background, or different colours?

  • Thank you, me either, I have a feeling that I'll be on holiday whenever it's released though, which is a little sucky. I don't really go to concerts all that much, I've only ever been to two and I hated the first one - so i kind of assumed I'd hate them all. After going to see Metallica, I now know that this is not so. I'm kind of annoyed about all the amazing concerts I've missed out on, like; Bullet for my valentine, Rammstien, machine head, motorhead, Iron Maiden, etc.

I'm not big into the Used, I liked them for a while and I still have their stuff, I just don't really listen to them much anymore.

  • Haha, I did, thank you ;)
It took me a whole day of my amateurish coding to figure out a way to get it to work without having to learn a whole bunch of new stuff.

I just got back form a metallica concert, the best day of my life right now, and that's not something I say often. I'm so happy. I think it may be a long time before i get tp see A7X though, but I hope you do and have loads of fun ;)

  • Haha, you're right, I'm just glad it didn't take his Ex any longer to figure out she was pregnant, otherwise I would have been more annoyed at her.
    May 7th, 2010 at 10:08am
  • lol I know I never see you on either but I am on now :]
    May 7th, 2010 at 06:30am
  • No problem :)
Thing is though, even though all my friends think he's a complete dick and want to get revenge, I still don't feel angry at him. I dislike his girlfriend a lot though, even when we were going out she was all clingy and every time he mentioned me on facebook she would leave little sad faces etc. incredibly childish.
Those people you know that know those people...could they go back in time about 3/4 months and warn my bf that his stupid girlfriend keeps forgetting to take her pill? Then deal a hefty kick to his balls at this moment in time? It would make me smile.

    same to you too.

I think we should invest in a bit of land and create a building of cells and stuff where we can torture people.

  • No problem, venting is good.
You know what pisses me off? When a guy you've liked for a while splits up with his girlfriend because she's a cheating whore, then after a while he asks you out, and after going out for a very little amount of time though quite happy in the relationship, his gf texts him mid-date, so he calls her, then she tells him she's pregnant, then he leaves immediately, leaving me where i was sat saying he has 'some urgent family issues' he has to get to.
The the next day his status on facebook reads that he's very much in love with his ex, no mention of me whatsoever.
Then the next time you see him all he says is 'sorry for leaving you like that and sorry for leading you on' and that's the end of your relationship.

This makes me hate his girlfriend with a passion. Grrrr.

*feel free to vent again though, lol, all venting services on my page are free and therapeutic*

I hate it when such petty things are turned into such a huge pathetic argument, and both persons know it's childish but neither can back down.

  • lol i wish i could get used to extreme weather.
i've pretty much adapted to not too cold and not too hot.

it was 70 degrees i thought i was SCOTCHING.

  • Yeah, I'm socially awkward beyond the point of normality, so I don't befriend people quickly. I also have a thing against people who are unreliable and two-faced, so it takes me a long time to start trusting people too. Normally I'm good friends with people I can figure out and best friends with those I can't. If i can't really 'connect' to a person, then quite often we don't end up befriending eachother.

Yes, I think that getting involved in other peoples shit is petty and immature, especially when they haven't been clued in about the whole situation and if they don't know the other people, then it's simply arguing for the sake of it. (and is no use to anybody at all).

I also pride myself in being a good judge of character, thought there have been the odd few times i have been wrong, I don't care about people's past, It's said that your past defines you. I guess that's right up to a point, but the rest is all you and as long as a person is loyal and kind then I'm willing to accept them into my group of friends.

  • haha yeah extreme weather.
i bet you're used to it though :D
    April 24th, 2010 at 03:08am
  • Thank you, I'm glad you started speaking to me, you seem a fairly down-to-earth person yourself.

It also bothers me when people judge you purely on reputation.

I had a friend that I stopped speaking to a while back, it was for many reasons, but the main ones being that she was using us, taking form us and giving nothing back into our friendship. Had it just been me that she was doing it to, I would have put up with it, I realised what she was like, I could handle it. What I couldn't handle was that it wasn't just me, she was letting down and hurting people I cared about too.
In the end my patience wore out, esecially after she had blown off two of my friends, i lost it and had an argument. After she relised that none of our mutual friends would back her up on it, she got o lot of other people involved, people that had only known her a couple of days and had never met any of us. She basically got them to throw insults at me.

The thing that annoyed me most about the whole situation was the fact that they didn't know me, I didn't give a shit what they said, it just bugged me that they had no problem listening to a person they had known for a few days and hate another person purely based on what the other person had told them.

Despite this, I can't say that I haven't done it myself, everyone has at one point, it's human nature, and I hate myself when I realise I'm doing it and do try not to, but if i hear only bad things about one person, it's and automatic thing for me to build up a bad picture of them in my mind.

  • Exactly, otherwise, what is free will for?
Unless they are happy to be judged themselves, people have no right to judge you or think you any less of a person for your own decisions.
