That, and all of our imagination goes out the window without the written word. It's all of our history and the lessons we want to share with others or the experiences we've gone through and the consequences of our choices in said situations that we want to warn others about. It's quite a wonderful little ability that humans have. The first story I wrote (which is severely short) I was trying to teach the reader's a lesson. I definitely got it across, I think, and that's a wonderful thing to accomplish. It's interesting to view things in a different light.

Yup, yup. exactly. Psychiatrists use the technique all the time to get patients to understand their own feelings or to delve deeper. They give them a pen and a pad of paper and tell them not to look at it, but to just let their hand move and sooner or later, words would come out and then sentences. It's quite amazing. Poetry is like that to a lot of people. Or at least those who take it seriously. The best poetry is the type you can connect to, I think. And I think metaphors and analogies are the greatest way to express your feelings. It causes the most impact too.

So true. It's a good way to sort through your emotions, too. I've found that sometimes, if I just stop thinking so much and let my heart and hand do the work, then read what I wrote later, I'm shocked at what I find. It's insane what you figure out about yourself. =o

Hmm. That'd weird. I've never written a poem like that. I can't write that way, to be honest. It makes my head hurt. lol. I mean, I've written poems for assignments way back in high school, but there's always emotion put into it. . O.O
