I'm good. My mom was talking about video taping my cat and this is what she did:
Mom: *pans imaginary camera slightly out* Is it an ass?
*pans camera in* Or is it balls?
*out* Ass?
*in* Or balls?
That was all about my cat's stomach tooJanuary 10th, 2012 at 11:32pm -

No clue. She keeps asking for my username so she can go read but she'll never know it unless I give her my computer password. That'll never happenJanuary 9th, 2012 at 02:55am

Please don't ever apologize for writing long comments... I absolutely love them. And you'll see that I end up writing twice as much back, so if anyone should feel bad, it's me...
Yep, I know how you feel -- I hate making poor Tommy upset as well. I kind of weeped my way through the second part of this last chapter, haha...
Lára is... she's interesting. Almost naïve, but not, you know? Sort of whimsical and usually pretty positive. But then, it's not like she doesn't experience sadness.
Haha! Yeah, I'm really into switching things up lately, what with the languages thing. :) It's actually surprisingly hard to write a whole long conversation in broken English, and have the characters say things like they would say them. For example, Lára has more of a book/classroom knowledge of English, whereas Tom has less knowledge but more field experience, so to speak.
And then there's Icelandic... it's a crazy language, let me tell you... but it's also really beautiful.
Here's a quote I found one day while moseying around Tumblr:
"Icelandic is a language with 3 different noun genders; 4 different cases with governance by verbs, prepositions, and circumstance; indicative, subjunctive, conditional, and imperative moods; a grand total of 12 verb tenses with 13 distinguishable conjugation paradigms; passive, active, and middle voices; accusative/dative impersonal verb constructions; three different imperative forms; declension of nouns, pronouns, and adjectives according to case, number, and gender; upwards of 65 recognized declension patterns; a phoneme system which is largely alien to English; and no word for 'please.'"
So yeah. I'm not Icelandic. I'm not pretending to know the language, and I probably never will. But it's pretty darn fun to blurt out random crap to impress strangers. ;) Halló, ég heiti Dori og ég er að læra Íslensku!
