But I do those things, and I still have a hard time finding readers. It's a fickle thing, readership. Sometimes you'll have them, sometimes you won't. It's kind of up to chance when you write originals.

Yeah, you do have to streak it. I've seen people with bleached streaks. It doesn't look bad at all! You just gotta get used to it. Though, if you wanted to keep the color, you'd have to keep dying it, which could get expensive. :/
