Having a year off my do the world of good, you never know. But yeah, hopefully she'll get to get back to studying. Probably better than what's happened to one of my friends. She wants to go to law school but her parents have told her she can't go because she needs to take a year off to save up. No option whatsoever, which definitely sucks, because it's not like we can't get decent loans in this country as a student :/ Messy business overall I think. I feel so over-privileged in that respect.
Ah, that makes sense. I went to a private school when I was younger. It costed more than it does one year of university tuition for a double-degree. Will she still get to go to another college?
Well that's exactly what I've been thinking. I'm just hoping like hell it all turns out okay, fingers crossed. Aw, really? Did you know what you wanted to do before you started college? Like career-wise or whatever?
Hey! You asked me about my view on the length of 'The Station', to which I honestly say the length was perfect. I love reading, and if a story is good I will always read to the end no matter how long but even so, I have a short attention span so I can only put up with short 'sessions' reading, so for me, 'The Station' was a good length. If a future story was a little longer it would still be acceptable, to be honest it is the quality of the writing which matters most, and your writing was plenty good enough :)
That's true I suppose. There are only seven universities or something like that here. But at the same time, because of the landscape and stuff, traveling isn't exactly an easy thing :P Some of my friends are going to be about three hours away by plane next year. Definitely not the same as in America but I think I understand to some extent? But whatever, I'm happy to leave some of these people behind next year. 22000 new assholes to meet xD
Well, okay, not that obscure but when I was overseas and I said where I was from everyone was just like "WOW, really?!" and yeah. Definitely some beautiful places here, I must agree. Particularly where I live, the sea is just gorgeous some days.
What amazes me about the US though is that it's so diverse when you compare the geography from one state to another. It's so bizarre to me that one country's so big they have different time zones within it xD
Well we don't have college over here; you go straight to uni from high school. My degree will be a minimum of five years so yeah. Don't feel too bad xD
I've met some pretty narcissist people too, but the worst part is that most of them can't even own up to their narcissism "OMG I'm soooo fugly!" Most people I've met in real life actually cop shit about it, so it makes it more tolerable. But yeah, internet narcissism sucks.
Oh my god, yes xD Like, "please, go camera-whore some place else and then complain about how many girls are commenting on your profile there." Honestly, some people...
I know, right? From what I've seen, only half of male users actually post anything either. The others are emo looking guys who have a comment war over whose pictures are hotter...it's a bit silly. There definitely aren't many authors. It's a bit disappointing. I like reading a male's perspective. It's refreshing.
Haha, you must've written a lot today xD But yeah, it's such a good way to meet people, and you know, without so much presence of creepy weirdos. That's always a bonus.
