Gyagh! That's... wait for it... wait for it... really funny. You know why its funny? Well you should cuz I don't... yup. So anywho. I think you should do a one-shot/ short story about that! haha. It would be great ya dingus! Mhm.

Alright so I know what I'm doing for confessions now, but I don't know how to start it. GRAH! Yeah. so I think my writing is declining and I am getting very discoraged by lack of reads/ comments/ subscribers. Can someone please explain why I should continue if NO ONE LIKES IT? Sigh maybe I'm being a little melodramatic. Doop... eh. doesn't matter I suppose.

So I think I'm even less excited about continuing Mask because I don't think I even have one subscriber... hahaha... self discoraged face* I'm so sad. It actually depresses me.

Yes I have totally had one of those moments man. I had one like that with drew. It was after we had a huge fight about... Something(?)... and hadn't talked forever and suddenly he was all cool and popular... and girls were hugging him/ all over him (WTF?)... and we had one of those momens.

So do you ever get the feeling that you can spend tons of time one something and you think that none of your friends are as good as you at it and then you see them doing that same thing and everyone loves them and not you? Yeah... I hate that. :( Sorry I just dummped a load of bull on you. Anyway... UPDATE!

I'm going to send you a PM regarding my whereabouts over the past month, okay? I just don't want my life entirely broadcast over the net.

Anyway, to address the more normal part of the conversation:

I had no idea British people called their underwear 'pants'. We just call them 'undies' or 'knickers' if you're referring to what you yanks call 'panties'. In general it's underwear or undies though. We call trousers pants as well. It might just be the Brits eh? Haha.
Yeah, different tests all over the world. I only knew SATs for Americans though. GCSE (or whatever) for British kids, HSC for Aussies and NCEA for us. NCEA is based on coursework as well as exams though. This year for me is hugely important because Level 2 NCEA is the one that universities look at and the workload is just intense. Really not looking forward to the rest of the year I'm telling you that.

Okay, if you're writing an anorexia story I'm going to give you one major piece of advice that most people don't understand: it is a serious mental illness. It isn't just 'ooh I want to be pretty' and it all suddenly steamrolls ahead. Contrary to popular belief, it is usually a more gradual (in a way) process. People don't just start starving themselves, they don't just start making themselves throw up either (bulimia) all because they want to be pretty. They know that that's wrong in the beginning but eventually it becomes...I don't know, a desperation? It's one of those kind of creeping kind of things that just starts happening and the rationality in the victim's mind creeps away alongside it.
I'm not sure if you can get it over in the US but there's a book that I read that really opened my eyes about this. If you can't get it, I strongly urge you to order it over the net. It's called 'Monkey Taming' by Judith Fathallah. She's British and suffered with anorexia nervosa as a young teenager. It's a fictional novel but it's so real and truly haunting. It goes through the main character wanting to lose weight. It starts off as healthy weight loss but then she starts getting obsessive over it (anorexia is often closely linked with OCD) and then becomes anorexic. Then it goes through her life in the rehab clinic and eventual release into regular life. It's an amazing book and if you're serious about writing an anorexia story I imagine it will become like a bible. I'm sure that there are many other books out there like this one, I remember reading a few of them a few years ago but this one really stuck in my mind for weeks after I finished reading it.

You make me sound like I've got so much self-discipline when I'm the complete opposite, despite writing for a good portion of my life. I do pretty similar things to what you do. The real problem is that I lack motivation to just sit down and write. Once I do, I'm all good but yeah, I have such a short attention span. I've got maybe a little piece of advice though?
I've found it's easier to just stick to writing one story at a time. Like you, I really struggle to finish stories and I think Dead at 15 is the first one I've ever truly finished. But I got really into it and practically became December as I wrote it. I'm considering just deleting the sequel thing. I've just got no will to write it because for me, it was just to develop Tommy's character more (because I suck at character development) and he's all sorted in my head now but the story has no actual direction so yeah. I don't know, maybe I'll just write a couple more chapters and end the whole thing on a cliffhanger. Just for some closure. If I don't know how it ends after so many months, I'll never know. What do you think of that?
But yeah, keep at one story is my advice. Just write down your ideas for your other stories but stick to the one. It keeps you more in the mind-set of the perspective you're writing and more attached to it. That's what I found with Dead at 15: plus it really challenged me. I used to suffer with major headaches after writing those chapters towards the end and wouldn't be able to look at it for a week. I was quite scared of getting stuck in Winter's mind too but it really developed a strong connection, you know? Maybe you should try getting a link like that in? Give your characters a real piece of yourself so they're relatable - not just for your audience, but for you.

You definitely don't write like Stephenie Meyer. Her writing itself is quite simple and Bella is an empty-shell character that gets stupider each book, but you have to admire that somehow, you want to read more (I have no idea how she accomplishes this though). I first read those books when I was eleven I think, but my taste in novels has matured. Back on the point though; as far as I can tell, your character is definitely not an empty-shell which is kind of the reason Meyer's writing is so horrid. There are a few similarities when it comes to the actual writing of it but that's not a huge part. I'd suggest that to improve this, if you want, you really develop your character: give her quirks, a crooked nose or something, a like of noodles or something, a grudge against another character, a memory and distinct action/repercussions.

And there's my essay. I think I've bet you in the rambling department. Feel free not to reply to heavily! Haha. Seriously, I'll end up writing more next time and your eyes just might die of shock.
