I've never been addicted to smoking but I have loved people who have been addicted to smoking, a boy i went out with a few months ago was an addict but i liked him regardless of that fact and i suspect the girl i like currently smokes... Anyway I know what it's like to be addicted or to be around something you crave, and I'm glad you liked my poem :D

That's amazing. At least in his last week of living he was able to spend time with the people he loved. I'm glad he did that, you know? It makes me happy that he reached out to them and was about to spend that time. It sounded like your cousin lived in the week before he died with people he loved and cared about.
The week before Jake died, he went on a church camp thing. He called me the night before to tell me about it; I ignored his call and I regret doing that everyday of my life. They weren't allowed to have cell phones or and electronic devices, so that would have been my last time I could talk to him before he passed away. I'm happy he was able to spend that week with the church friends he loved dearly. I just wished I had picked up the phone.

Yeah, at least he was happy. That's all anyone deserves is to be happy before they pass away.

You cousin sounded like he was very passionate about his music. At least he was listening to something he completely loved in the passing.

I completely understand you; after Jake's passing, I never push anyone away. I never try to hurt anyone anymore because how long do we have them for? We never know. They could pass away today, tomorrow, next week, next year or ten years from now and we'll still be hurt no matter what.

I hate the fact that I realized how important everyone was when I lost the most important person to me.

Oh yeah, definitely your cousin is onto bigger and better things because now he's somewhere in this universe without a worry and he can be happy. You may miss him and he may miss you, but I like to think of a passing as 'see you later' and that you'll meet up again someday. Once you meet up again, there will be so much more happiness than anyone could ever try to explain.

It just sucks, you know? I had him for what seemed like the shortest four years of my life and I wish that he didn't leave the world without living like he had planned to do.

I'm sorry to hear about that with your cousin :( I'm sure that he's looking over you knowing how you wished you could've got to know him better.
