with that background, you just may enjoy the story*giggles* in school, mainly, where we speak british English. Most films and the like, is American. Just that I guess it only got interesting after school. I have a few good books, that just wasn't available in any but original English. Guess that's the best, anyway. no loss to translation.
On the comments, it's good to pick up a few tricks on how to work, the rest is up to personal style. Sometimes it may help to read the comments attatched, to give a few hints. Translation, yeah, that's a problem too. I guess that's a great divide, since these 2 do spell things rather differently. Not to mention, choosing entirely different words*giggles* In part, I guess it's a matter of perspection, and personallity. British english can be on the 'Stuckup" side, whereas the American get on the Rude and vulgar side. In my story, I try to make the most of these differences. Treating them as separate languages entirely. You understand all the dialects, but can see differences. I use them to separate people and locations, so that you see when the individual is from a specific place.
I rather wait for a while, then get a rash comment. typos is a detail the swap is great for, htough most people jus point out that they're there, which's not realy helpful. I know some of my comments may not have been the best. some stories are very hard to comment on. Though I try to leavce as many hints and suggestions I can come up with. Together with a few feelings of hhow the story came out, as I read it. Details like the vocabulary are relativcely easy to put out, since I can't avoid the words. how things hold together is another fairly easy. I like to find a few details I can quote as part of the comment, preferable, details that's not too obvious. If I had to actually read the text, to find a few small details, you know I red it.
As you said, there are no excuses for typos*giggles* yet, we always do make a few on occasion.
Sometimes, I can't point out how exactly to correct what I find, thus leave a more questioning remark. besides, it's suggestions and hints, for you to make your best out of.
Glad I could help out, even if it's a limited fashion.
I would suggests checking the members lol. They usually have a list of editors now:) And yes I know! I have done the swap thing mutiple times and it has given me a lot of people who don't like fiction books. O.o
