I just got AP exams out of the way. Thought I was going to die. Finals are next week, I'm still looking for a job, and I've yet to take the SAT. XD Totally not prepared for next year.

It's nice to be able to hold a book and turn the pages while you're reading it. I also have a tendency to jot down notes and story ideas in the margins of my books, and that's difficult to do with an eBook. I really hope it's not the beginning of the book burnings, too! O.O The mere thought is horrifying!

I hope I'll be able to finish up Angels Never Fade Away soon, so that I can really throw myself in Kings and Thieves. Curse you, Homestuck, for distracting me.

With the end of the year approaching, I have to get a lot of final things in order. Ya know, AP exams, college crap, and of course my wonderful thesis. I just turned in my volunteer hour form today, so I at least have that part out of the way.

Hmm, I didn't think that such a thing would happen with eBooks, but well, it's always a possibility. I just dislike eBooks because of the fact I prefer a tangible book. One of the underclassmen who I'm friends with thinks that it will be the start of book burnings. I really hope not... otherwise my hoard is in danger.

Can't wait to read the next part! That will be exciting. :)

It's totally fine! I understand! You have no idea how busy I've been lately; my activity on Mibba is temporarily nonexistent. Haha. XD

My censorship paranoia is actually the reason that I dislike eBooks. The concept makes me...a little uncomfortable. It's easily censored through a few tweaks to lines of coding.

I finally finished with that nonsense, actually! I'm back to work on my stories here! Hopefully, I can start getting Kings and Thieves cranked out soon.

Sorry for the really late reply! I got distracted with my thesis and a current story project. So I completely up and left Mibba for well... a LONG time.

I am completely in agreement with you when it comes to censorship. To allow for the government to have that control is just the beginning of allowing for them to control personal thought as well... at least in my opinion. The Cider House Rules was not my favorite book, but it certainly was interesting. I liked the background meaning but wasn't necessarily a fan of the writing style... I just felt it was really dry. I'm just glad I finished.

How is that vampire story going anyways? Haha, it's been so long since I've commented! Sorry about that again...

Gah, it's just some stuff with my mom not being at home and such. And then there's science fair. And basketball tryouts and last minute Christmas gifts and learning Russian. It's just all overwhelming.

    Well how are you?

Tired, haha. We were unpacking the kitchen, and I'll be fine if I never see another can of pineapple in my entire life. What about you?

Yeah, that sounds like a ton of work! I'm currently working on a study called Reclaiming Feminism in my free time that's pretty killer. I think I might just go into politics one day...

I am vehemently opposed to censorship, especially the censoring of books. Oppression prevails when the government controls the press, and censorship is a slippery slope that we must stay of of. But I digress. I've never read The Cider House Rules...

Yeah, we're currently writing short stories for an Anthology of Texas Vampires that my class intends to publish when it's all said and done. I didn't want to get published for a vampire short story right away, but I'll take whatever I can get.

I am taking an AP class (Literature and Composition. Language and Composition was soooo much more fun), but the thesis is required for everyone who wants to graduate. I'm a senior, so that means lots of work... yay...

An essay on book banning? That sounds fascinating! Much better than writing an essay on The Cider House Rules. Good book, tough to get through.

Your teacher sounds like the creative writing teacher at my school. All students in Advanced Creative Writing have to submit something at the end of each quarter. Or else whatever grade you had is docked by one letter...

I mean, I understand being proud of being ahead of schedule, but really?

Are you taking an AP class? What grade are you in? I'm doing a paper on book banning right now that's trying to kill me, haha.

Um, the idea is to have a novel that we could publish by the time that the class ends towards the end of January.

    I can understand that.

I'm fighting with it, but I think that it'll be a good challenge. Thesis papers in college will probably be MUCH worse, so it's good to get all the practice in high school.
Indeed they are! On an off note, how many drafts do you write for a story?

Yay! So does your teacher just want you to write a story, or does he/she also want you to publish it or something? :o

I hated him for a while because he was bragging about it. I barely stay on-track. :I

I am most certainly joking. =.=0 I do think that you must have a better work-ethic than I do, though. XD I couldn't stay on topic with something like that.
I am a firm believer in sloppy copies! First drafts are wonderful things.

    Um...okay-ish. I think I'll finish in time.

I honestly would say a kid who is rushing through writing like that is doing a really half-assed job when it comes to his story. Was he bragging on about it in class? I'm lucky if I can write 2,000 words in a week! :I

I don't know if you're joking on this one or not! I think I didn't consider how how much work it would be prior to formulating my thesis statement. XD
I'm fascinated by the concept of narcissism and how Wilde uses it... I just don't know how I'm going to work it into a thesis. I guess that's what first drafts are for!

    How is your novel going?

I dislike showy-offy types. Like this guy in my creative writing class who had already written 25,000 words by the end of the first week. Hated him for a little while.

A psychological analysis of Wilde's work....you sound like someone with serious self-loathing issues. My brain would explode. Now paradoxes? Paradoxes sounds doable.

No, but you'll be given a bad grade if you don't complete your novel in time. Still with the mrgun
