The most difficult poem I've ever written, by far. When I was fourteen, a young girl named Casey Connors, a friend of mine and my brother's girlfriend, was shot and killed in 1999. This poem is for Casey.

The Death of Dawn

This poem, to me, is a tragedy, a tragedy in every sense of the word. And first of all, this is not a work for people with short attention spans, and is best taken as a short story in two parts instead of a long poem.
