  • Ah! I’m terribly sorry for not having replied sooner. I went on an unplanned holiday, and then when I finally got back at the beginning of this week, my in-laws decided that it was the perfect time to come to stay. It was so annoying having our little house packed with people. I didn’t get to have my precious computer time, but I’m back!
That was really sweet of your student to have given you the rose and certificate. I think I would’ve teared up had that happened to me. How was Rock Werchter? Were the bands amazing? Did you get to see Green Day close up? I’m so stoked to hear about it! :)

  • I’m glad to hear the government isn’t focusing solely on exam results. Over here, they go crazy with that. They force science and math down people’s throats, and forget about the beauty and importance of music and art.
That’ll be rad then! I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that not too many parents go to visit with you. That way you can enjoy a nice chat in the afternoon with your colleagues and drive home to begin your much needed holiday. It’s in a week already? Ah! That’s so exciting! You’ve got to take pictures :)

  • Haha all we get over here is boring classroom stuff. Very few teachers put the effort into making learning fun because our government forces them to teach us stifling standards. That’s the problem with our education system, the government wants everything standardized and focuses to heavily on exams, when students actually need different learning methods and subjects to explore.
Oh okay, for some reason I already thought you were off, but hoorah! Just one more day and then you’ll be able to relax a bit :) And you’ll have Rock Werchter!

  • Hahah that wasn’t stupid. That was a brilliant point that I hadn’t thought of. Argentina throws down enough on the field, they don’t need a guy with loose scruples added to their team. And Naples is quite a good team! Hopefully he’ll enjoy his time there and maybe be signed to an even better team in the future.
I am so jealous of the Belgian education system. The trips they give over there are loads better than the ones here. Ah! Zoos, theme parks, and bike trips through the beautiful countryside – all fantastic!
It does, though today I had to go in early since the other personal assistant had to go somewhere with his father. I was so annoyed, but the good thing is that I’ve already finished everything I had to do for the day and now I’m working on some updates! That reminds me, you can now start sleeping in for two months! Hoorah :)
    June 27th, 2013 at 10:42pm
  • It’s understandable. From what it sounds like, he’s not a good sportsman, and that’s really important. I don’t just want someone that plays a great game of football, I want someone that exemplifies the love of the game and honor and pride out on the field, and that dude does not have it. Ah! That’s right haha we can’t let the Argentineans have him! Good thinking!
Oooh he got transferred? Well it’s great that he’s moving up in terms of teams, but who knows, maybe one day when he’s visiting Belgium, you’ll be able to run into him again! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that that happens and that your brother’s there lol
That sounds like it’ll be a fun last week. Where are some of the school trips you’re planning on taking? And that dinner/dance sounds like it’ll be great fun!
I’ve been doing well! I’m happy to have more time to sleep. Since I don’t work until one in the afternoon, I’ve been catching up on rest and taking out my dogs on daily jogs, it’s been good!
    June 25th, 2013 at 07:46am
  • Sorry for not responding sooner! I graduated last week and things got sort of crazy, but I’m back! :)
Ah, never mind I don’t want Witsel. I like my players to be a little rowdy but still honorable while they’re out on the pitch, maybe we can give him to the Argentinean team. Lol
Awe that makes me love him even more! And I agree with you. You’re Belgian first and then the Flemish or Walloon after. There has to be pride in one’s country. I might not always be happy with the way my country handles things, but I still love it and the promise of what it could be.
Hahaha your brother is one rad guy! Now I’m going to have to get in cahoots with him so that we can make this run in with Mertens, happen!
How have you been? Are you on summer break yet or nearly there?
    June 23rd, 2013 at 10:00am
  • Awe that’s not very nice! You should share haha
I’m glad to hear that he’ll be fine by the next match. He honestly deserves all the love he’s getting. He personifies the love of the sport. He left it all out there even though he was injured and bleeding. Ah! What a player!
It is bullshit, but a lot of places have been popping out with that. Disneyland has had it for awhile, which is a pain, but I feel that I’m so used to long lines there that I’ve gotten used to it.
Hahaha now I kind of wish that you run into Mertens when your brother’s with you. It would make for such a good story. I can even imagine your brother calling you over so you can stand next to Mertens while he takes a picture of you two lol
    June 13th, 2013 at 11:10am
  • hahaha oh my goodness, I am such a dunce!
I honestly didn't even realize that I'd thanked you twice, and I read your comment and made a mental note of it, but I guess I was just too sleepy. That's what I get for updating at two am lol
    June 13th, 2013 at 11:03am
  • Haha in that case, I think you should send some of your great players over to Mexico. We need their help! Lol Are you serious? I honestly can’t believe that man. Had that been me, I would’ve jumped straight into the back of the car and had someone drive me to the hospital. He is most definitely worth of hero status. Oh shit, he really got banged up then. I hope he gets plenty of rests and makes a full recovery for the next match!
That is really expensive. Between the ticket and the flight it’ll be over two hundred euros. I just googled Walibi, and it definitely looks like a good time. Hopefully you’ll all be able to go and enjoy yourselves out there! :)
Ah! Your brother’s right! He would’ve been glad to give a picture to a fan. From what I’ve heard about him, he seems like a genuinely nice guy. Maybe you’ll be able to run into him again at some bar and find the courage to go up to him and ask for a picture!
It sounds like you had a really fun weekend! You had a great soccer win, a barbecue, and a birthday party! I completely understand. You deserve to rest and catch up on your sleep. Having to teach and deal with students is way too exhausting. You need to, as in the words of Parks and Rec, “TREAT YO SELF!” How long is your summer break?
    June 12th, 2013 at 10:30am
  • Ah!! Congratulations! I’m so glad Belgium won! :) Awe I can’t believe Mertens didn’t play. Was he injured? Fuck, I can’t believe Kompany played through that. That man must be a beast to be able to power through that pain. I bet that made the victory even sweeter for him! Haha I’m jealous of how great your Red Devils are doing, but at least my Mexico isn’t being as awful as before. Lol
:O they don’t like theme parks?! That’s unbelievable! Everyone I know enjoys theme parks, granted some of them prefer roller coaster theme parks more than Disneyland, but that’s insane. I think they’d change their minds if they visited Disney though, as cliché as it is, it truly is magical there.
That sentence definitely made sense! I can’t wait to hear about all the great bands you saw were. If you get to see anyone famous up close, you should definitely take a picture! :)
And thank you, my weekend was a little hectic but good. My niece had her birthday party on Saturday so she spend the day/night with us on Saturday so her parents could surprise her on Sunday, so that was rad, but she just has so much energy that it gets exhausting sometimes. How was your weekend?
    June 11th, 2013 at 09:33am
  • OMG that trip was fucking epic!!
Ah! I am beyond jealous right now. I’m just trying to imagine how awesome it must’ve been, and am unable to truly wrap my mind around it. That’s down though to have been able to take a school trip there with friends.
Hoorah! I think the game might already be on in Belgium, or it might happen later on in the day, but either way, good luck! I hope the red devils win. I’d definitely love to see them in Rio :)
You haven’t been?! Oh, you need to save up and go on a holiday there! I’m sure it’s every bit as magical as the Disneyland in Anaheim. I honestly love the rides. They have great little kid rides which are mostly the princess rides, but I still get on them because I love me my princesses. And then the adult rides are so fun, and they always have the characters walking around and taking pictures with them is the best! You must go one day :) Disneyland is just so very amazing!
That’s what I think as well! As do most people at the company, but since no one wants to upset the head boss, they don’t complain to him. Haha I like to think I deserve at least half of the lawyers salary, with that, I’d be happy enough.
Hoorah! Summer break is so close! You’re gonna have to tell me all about Rock Werchter! I’m so jealous that you’re going to see that great musical line up! :)
    June 7th, 2013 at 12:30pm
  • Your college had a school trip to Egypt? AHH
I am beyond jealous right now. Everything just sounds like it’s so much radder over there. The zoos! The college trips! At my university, we only went on one trip and that was sponsored by the Hispanic student union on campus, and it was to Lake Tahoe so it wasn’t even all that grand. Egypt though, that sounds fantastic! Did you visit Cairo and the pyramids? Oh okay. That’s rad that she went all the way out there. She’ll definitely have lots to share with all of you.
It is! They’ve never really done contests for international festivals, usually just for a show in a different country, but this summer they’ve been handing out prizes for festivals abroad, this week it’s one in England. There’s a part of me that wants to call in to try my luck, but I once wet three days calling nonstop to try to win Radiohead tickets and that didn’t work out at all haha
That’s alright. I can still enjoy things even when I know the result. I finally watched the game and the US team played better than I expected them too. I always have really low expectations for them, because football isn’t really our forte. We’ll kick ass in American football and basketball, but proper football is something that we’re lacking in. Especially since so many people here don’t take it seriously and call it a sport for girls that don’t want to get hurt. Ahhh. People that say those things annoy me so very much!
Thank you so much! Yes! Party! And Disneyland! :D I am a four year old at heart, so I told my husband and parents that I expect them each to take me to Disneyland on separate days. I deserve to be pampered! Haha
It is! I honestly can’t stand that guy. He’s in his thirties, he’s already graduated from law school and passed the bar, but he’s so incompetent and inefficient that his own father won’t give him a position as a lawyer at the firm. He just pays him a lawyers salary to be an assistant, and that just pisses everyone at the office off, but it’s not like anything can be done about it. I just have to keep going and help out my boss.
That’s awful! I can’t believe you only had four hours of sleep, more importantly, I can’t believe that a grown up people’s party lasted until 4 am, those people know how to party haha. I hope you were able to catch up on some sleep on Sunday! You deserve to have a good sleep-a-thon. By the way, when is your next break from school?
    June 5th, 2013 at 09:42am
  • Those are the friends that last. There are some people that needed constant physical interaction to make a friendship work, but I always think that the ones where you can go long stretches without seeing each other but you can pick back up where you left off, are the best ones, because there’s this understanding that the separation wasn’t all that much. I don’t know. I smoked a little so I might be rambling haha. That’s awesome! Are you going to meet up in one of the larger cities? That definitely sounds like it’s gonna be a great night out! :) She was in Bolivia? Woah, that’s a huge change from Belgium. Was she over there teaching a language or on a gap year?
Ah! I thought of you when I was driving home from work today. I was listening to KROQ on the radio, and they were announcing a contest in which they’re going to fly the winner out to Rock Werchter for the entire festival.
I actually haven’t watched the game yet. It’s recorded and waiting for me to indulge, but I’m gonna watch it this weekend so I can just make a little afternoon out of it and grab some beers and maybe some tacos and nachos from this place nearby that I haven’t been to for a while. Belgium won 2-4? My goodness, they came out to play then. I’m excited to see how they played. I know the US isn’t great when it comes to football but I’m even more excited to watch the game on Sat. Ooo I hope they’ll air the Belgium v Serbia game on the television over here. We’ve got a few exclusively soccer channels so hopefully I’ll be able to see it.
My weeks been a little crazy. My boss has gotten a few more cases that he has to sort out, and since his other assistant is a little incompetent (but the son of one of the founding partners), he’s had me pulling some over time to make sure files and briefings are in order. And I’m gonna graduate in two weeks! :) so I’ve been getting things ready on that front as well, but the weekend is almost here hoorah! And I am looking forward to relaxing and not having to stress. How about you? How’s your week been?

  • It’s amazing how quickly time flies by. I bet if feels like just yesterday since you started college. I know it feels that way for me sometimes. Ah that sucks about the keyboard. I have one that I connect to it, so thankfully I’m not getting used to a new one, but hopefully it won’t take you that long to adjust to it. I’m glad to hear you figured it out. Does your windows eight have a hibernate option? Mine only has sleep, restart, and shut down. I miss the hibernate option! Haha
    May 27th, 2013 at 07:39am
  • Oh okay! Thanks for the heads up. I don’t think I’m going to be able to watch it live since I’ll probably be stuck in traffic when it starts, but I’m definitely going to record it and watch it as soon as I get home.
Eight years? Damn, that was one good laptop then. I had one for a little over four and it died on me, then again, I have reason to believe that I didn’t give it as good of a life as it deserved. Woo hoo! I’m glad to hear that your laptop’s ready! And it’s an HP! I love HP (my old one was an HP, but I had to go with Dell for its replacement because it was cheaper). That’s completely understandable, the windows 8 homepage has so many little apps and boxes. It gets confusing. I always go immediately to the desktop app and try not to mess with anything that’ll take me back to the windows 8 homepage
    May 25th, 2013 at 10:02am
  • Oh okay. I’m so used to sports bars being everywhere, that I didn’t even stop to think about how it would be in other countries. And I’m glad you’re looking forward to the game again. It’ll be rad to have your family around, and there will hopefully be a yummy potluck going on so you can eat and enjoy the game :)
And they are?! Do you know what day? I’m most definitely going to watch it live if I can, and if not, I’ll record it. Ah. I can’t believe I didn’t know that. I’m so out of the loop with my sports, but I’m definitely going to tune into that match!
Oooh okay, haha in that case, I’m definitely going to get myself a little break baking machine. I always love the fresh bread they take out at restaurants, so it would be nice to have a fresh loaf at the house. I’m sorry to hear about your laptop. Did you have it for a long time? Thank goodness you had a spare to use, even though everything was really small on the screen. Tuesday just passed though, which means you have your new laptop! Hoorah! What kind of model is it? If you don’t mind my asking. I’m curious as to whether there are different brands in Europe or if its all pretty standard everywhere.
    May 22nd, 2013 at 09:51am
  • I’ve had those before. They used fried bananas a lot in Cuban food, so I’ve had them a few times. They’re pretty good.
Hahaha oh my goodness, I’m just imagining you using your sarcasm and it just flying over your student’s heads. That must be both hilarious and incredibly frustrating. It’s rad because you can get away with saying so many things sarcastically, but no one’s there to appreciate it or give a laugh. And your students just completely don’t get it haha I can’t believe those kids.
Oh okay, never mind then. Sports bars are huge in America, but I guess that’s just one of those things that the country has because of the national obsession with so many sports. That sounds like a rad way to watch the game at home! There’s nothing like a cold beer and some good snacks to watch a match. That’s awesome, it sounds like it’ll be a fun mini family gathering.
Oh I’m sure they would. Mexico has been tying and losing. It’s not right, there’s talent in the Mexican soccer league, but the right players aren’t being called up to the national team. Ah. They’re just so annoying, they were doing so good, and now they’ve gone to shit!
OMG hahahah I can’t believe your dad added everything except the water. He must’ve been really out of it, to not realize that the ingredients needed a liquid to get the process going lol Having a bread machine sounds really rad though. I bet the bread tastes delicious since its fresh and homemade. Mmm now you’re making me want to get a bread maker, but knowing me, I’ll be horrible at making it :(
    May 17th, 2013 at 11:47am
  • That doesn’t sound the least bit pleasant. It is! I have to admit that I like Americanized Chinese food a little better than authentic Chinese food, the authentic one is great but there are some dishes that just don’t sit well with me. I wouldn’t recommend Thai food. There was just something off about it, and I got sick from it, who knows maybe it was just poorly prepared but after that incident, I’m staying away from it.
Haha I love sarcasm, but I’m not a sarcastic person at all. I can appreciate when others use it and laugh along, but I don’t know, I’m not fluent in sarcasm lol.
In two minutes? That’s insane! That’s faster than a lot of concerts. Fuck. Haha yeah, or maybe there’s a good sports bar with delicious food nearby? You could watch the game, have a pint and dinner, that sounds like it’ll be rad.
Are they? That’s interesting! I’m looking forward to that match. I’m going to have to set it to record. Haha I’m glad you guys aren’t playing Mexico, that would’ve been one more team kicking their butts! lol
    May 12th, 2013 at 11:02pm
  • Ooo, I dig that. It’s rad that they have the food that goes with the region there. That’s down. How was the African food? I’ve only ever had Ethiopian and I wasn’t a massive fan of it. I like it better than Thai food though. Chinese food is always so overpriced at amusement parks and zoos, I think it’s because so many people have a liking for it, they think they can charge whatever they want.
Hahaha I like that. Your mom’s awesome. I love how mother’s just have those little things that they’re able to do to keep their kids in line. I can’t wait till I have kids to see what my skill will be lol
Haha yes! That part was hilarious. Oh, I just love Sheldon Cooper. He’s so socially awkward and the things he says are always laugh worthy. I love the fact that he doesn’t get sarcasm.
OMG I’m so sorry about that. I know how much you were looking forward to the match, and I was looking forward to hearing about the match from you. That sucks. For as good as technology is, sometimes it’s a real pain in the ass.
    May 9th, 2013 at 07:26pm
  • She is! She just had knee surgery done, and since her kids are going throughout useless teenager phase, she needed some help, but yes, now I can do what I want. I’ve taken great pleasure of doing nothing. I even caught up on all my show yesterday. It was fantastic. :)
Ahhhh I’m now even more jealous of the zoo! We don’t have specific locations for the different animals, they’re just sorted based on the type they are, not the location where they come from, but it sounds amazing for there to be a specific Africa portion of the zoo, as well as an Indian and Australian. I can just imagine how they decorate those different parts. Ah! If I ever go to Europe one day, I’m most definitely going to have to visit that zoo. Koalas are amazing! At the Los Angeles Zoo there’s a koala house, and when I was younger, they used to actually let you hug the koalas and get a picture taken with one. That was my favorite part about going to the zoo
Haha I think mom’s just find their way with things. I remember the most terrifying thing my mom does is a glare. She kind of looks like a hawk when she does it. When I was younger, my siblings and I used to be fidgety during mass. We weren’t as bad as the kids that loudly complain and talk, but we would move around a lot and doze off, and sometimes my brother and sister would try to get me in trouble because I was the youngest, and then my mom would give me the glare, and I’d stop. But then those jerks would make me mess up again, and I’d get the glare and a pinch, and she’d make me sit between her and my dad, ah I used to hate that when I was little haha.
That’s so strange. I guess your DVR just refused to record the program on that day. Haha I remember that episode, he makes Leonard drive with it in the car and take him to the university lol. Shamy is hilarious, and in this new season, they’re even better. I just love how awkward they are. They’re the best.
