Hey, there! Sorry I haven't answered your comment back, but this is, literally, the first time I have been on the computer for some down time in the last week. So, I hope you don't think I was ignoring you.
But, yes, they are making a movie! The movie will be based on the musical-- google Gregory Maguire and you will find a discussion board about his books and also the musical. Click on the Wicked: the musical folder and there are many topics about the movie coming out soon.
There is also a book though I completely understand when people say it is just too dark; it is, I'm not going to lie... but I think that's why I love Elphaba's story so much in the book compared to the musical. Her story in the book is just... more realistic and stronger. The first few chapters are hard to get through, and might seem boring if you ever do decide to read the book, but everything ties together in the end and it will leave you breathless if you think about everything that happened.
In reply to your journal comment (thanks for commenting by the way)...
It was kinda... Weird... But it wasn't opinion or anything... It was just we were talking about something and yeah... I said this other person was scary. XD
At least I'm not the only person though, that's a good thing. :P
Oh well I did do History in Year 8 to 10 as part of humanities, but it was all ancient history, which personally I found more interesting at any rate. But I did no history in Year 11 and 12, and our school only offered Ancient History in 11/12. I did my schooling in QLD.
You're right, I was referring more to primary school. I never opted to do History in High School. And at my school Australian History was not taught in secondary school.
