It's like an unwritten rule to life or something, and it sucks big time.

I understand, it can be really hard to have bad news and have no one to share it with and help take the load off of your shoulders for a bit.

I am really so very sorry for your loss. It is really hard to lose a parent, even if that parent wasn't one you were able to see very often. In fact, sometimes that makes it worse...
