I means that whenever something goes wrong, I say, "If it wasn't for..."
EXAMPLE!
JBL and CM Punk's drinking contest:
If it wasn't for JBL trying to get CM Punk to drink, (Because he's straight edge and doesn't), he wouldn't have gotten alchohol in his face.
