TELL ME ABOUT IT!
I'm all like "Oh gosh, I can't wait to see my friends!" when school starts, and now it's just like "When is all the work going to end?!" Oh, I know how you feel :\ I just met up with a college consultant today, and we were going over what to say in interviews, and I'm all just so nervous!
I really just wanna cry because of your comment, thank you so much!(-':
No, it isn't cliche at all! I love it when readers can connect with my characters!
and to let you in on a secret, I'm actually really glad I got such wonderful feedback, because I literally typed that up in 10 minutes at 11 PM.
Okay now I swear I'm really gonna cry. Thank you so much!
xDDD That would be soooo hilarious xD
"I shall not refer to the Accio charm as 'The Force'."
I enjoy it :D And it all works for crackfics as well, but most of the time, it's really, really difficult to pull off a good AU/crossover, so I definately see why people wouldn't be too keen on them. It's the same principle as with OC's in fanfiction - there are so many shitty ones that people don't want to read it even if it might be good.
Mostly, I feel like it's for the comedy aspect. It's funny to see people in one universe who don't belong there at all try and work within the verse. (Harry with a lightsabre? xD) But definately, not all crossovers work.
Though, I do think it is cool when someone can get two universes to work together in a crossover or AU. It's sometimes really interesting to see how the two worlds interact. My favorite example is a Narnia and Harry Potter crossover where the MC could get into Narnia from Hogwarts through the Room of Requirement. It was pretty cool imo xD
I totally agree with you on that point though. There are some things that should just STAY where they are. People try and cross Anime and HP all the time and it's just... no... just no. And your example, I just don't see how it could work, honestly.
They can be, certainly. It takes a lot of talent and knowing characters to be able to pull them out of their normal setting and plop them down into a different one.
Both, I guess, but more rules of a universe. I mean, once JKR set down the rules for Harry's world, she had to operate within them. I think the same sort of thing could be said for fanfiction.
I feel the same way. And the whole thing about having rules with fanfiction... well, once you set up a premesis for an OF, don't you then have rules there as well?
The times I've won have both been fanfics, and this year I'm doing a mix of both for NaNo. It'll be a nice change, plus maybe my mum won't bitch at me as much if I write some OF. xD

Here they are! :D
Thanks xD I'm going to write like 5 or 6 different stories, so we shall see.
I won last year, and I won JulNo last month. I was going crazy during NaNo though xD
