I said with a small chuckle as we walked up the path to Oli's flat. It was about 10 o'clock in the evening, and our stomachs were filled with chewed vegetarian pizza that was playing [i]Marco, Polo[/i] in its acids.

It was our first date.
Our first, real, going out that somehow made whatever was going on between us more certified. Like a lawyer signing papers, or a priest at a wedding.
It was now legit.
Right.

We spent close to two hours at the italian restaurant; talking about our days before that said moment, then to deeper matters like what we wanted to do with our lives.
Oli said he wanted his band to go places.
I wanted to be a scientist.

It was at that point, after everything was out in the open, and he knew something crucial about me and I learned something crucial about him, that it was utterly fascinating that neither one of us suddenly wanted to call for the check and get as far away from the other as possible.
Instead, when I told him about my dream, his eyes widened and he said "[i]Really?[/i]" and proceeded to tell me that he's broken too many beakers in his time to even consider a career in the name of science.

He made me laugh.
I wasn't about to call for our total anytime soon.

Same went with me; criticizing his ambitions was not even conceived when I said to him that it was in my most honest opinion that I thought that his band could hit the big time.
That they could be famous.

He seemed to like that, for his grin went past his earlobes, and he drank his coke a little slower. He took smaller bites of his meal.

Now, he had his arm resting around the length of my shoulders casually, as though this were the most typical thing for us. I was just trying my hardest not to let my cheeks reveal the emotions that were bubbling inside.
Nothing less of difficult.

His house appeared to be completely vacant of his family, and for that I was grateful. Or to an even milder extent; at the least- [i]happy[/i].
Carol, his mother, had to work at the hospital because of her title of Nurse.
His father had been gone for the past three days hundreds of miles away for Tom's, Oli's brother's, photography tournament.
He also had the potential to achieve his dreams.

"[i]wha' do yeh mean[/i] 'typical'? [i]We're jus' gonna watch a movie.[/i]"
He said in his defense.

I rolled my eyes.
"[i]Exactly my point. That's been done how many other times by how many different people. It's as though everyone's reading the manual for[/i] 'Dating for Dummies'."

"[i]So now ima dummie, 'eh? Is tha' the thanks I get fer takin' yeh out fer sum pizza?[/i]"

He took his arm away from my shoulders to dig through his tight, denim pocket; looking for his keys. He found them, and took a step further on the porch and towards the door, where he was about to unlock it.

Until I snatched them from his grip.
He watched with curiousity as I said,

"[i]That[/i] 'thanks' [i]will be unveiled as we watch our, let me guess, horror film?[/i]"

He swallowed, and I knew that I was right.
I smiled in success, and put the key in the knob and opened the door myself; letting its actual resident be led in like a guest.
A retort slipped from his lips, but was unheard by my ears.

He was fully in the house, turning on the living room lights and setting up the scenery for our mediocre event, so I just stayed outside for a moment long enough to huff satisfyingly and say softly,
"[i]I won.[/i]"[/b]

Well, thats good then. I'm glad you think im a good writer, cause sometimes I dont think so. lmao (:
I want to post the sequel so bad... but i cant think of how to start it! D:
I have everything but the beginning planned out. me = fail. haha
