Ooo! You're absolutely right! Thanks for pointing that out. I should have clarified that. Well Annie is me, so for me in high school, I had a HUGE group of friends that had been with me since elementary school, and I met them all through a family friend, so I never learned how to make friends on my own. So when I got into college, I had my roommate (from the story, you can tell she's pretty useless) and one new friend I somehow managed to make completely by accident, but she kind of annoys me... So social life is down the drain. So going from being pretty popular to a social nobody was... bad. I'm feeling a little better about it now after I wrote it all down, but the sadness is still there. :p I was actually depressed while I was still in high school, so the college transition really hit hard. That's where Annie is now.

Well, anyway, how I intended it was that Will and his twin sister were part of a street gang. One day, there was a shoot-out, and Will's sister was killed in the crossfire. That happened a couple of months before the start of the story. When Will disappeared on Annie, he was trying to get himself out of the gang, but they wouldn't let him leave. He tried to anyway, and they beat him. That's why he came up to the lounge all bloodied up, still shaken by what he just went through. He went to play piano to calm his nerves.

Haha, a bit extreme, but as I said in the author's note, I can't make myself write a story without violence :P

And she was alone because she was really bad at talking to people and had a fear of human contact (I believe I used those exact words in the story). I decided not to elaborate on what was going on with Will on the side, because well.. it was the side. The focus of the story was on the pain they both felt, not necessarily what caused it, but just the fact that they both were hurting like hell. I thought I'd leave it up to the readers to interpret what happened to Will and his sister. I have my own take on it, if you're interested in knowing.

Yeah, um, saw two instances where the quotes were put in and it was either wrong, or they weren't closed. The instance you're talking about should be closed quotes and she does say it out loud.
My bad.

I don't think that's a problem in the next 50 something chapters soooo yeah! Thanks for the that, though. No one ever brought it up so I didn't realize it was such a hassle.
