Horace was the one that picked on Will at the beginning, and then became his best friend and a famous knight.

It's not that Allie doesn't know how to defend herself (she DID beat up Alda to save Shadow), but that she can't fight someone she can't touch. Alda knew that, so he got his revenge from a distance.

I can't wait to write the scene where she kicks his sorry arse...'evil grin'

Besides, I like Allie because, despite all of her handicaps and flaws, she never backs down. ^^It makes her acts of bravery and loyalty much more thrilling when I think of them.^^

Well, all the characters stumble a little at the beginning. I felt that, if Allie was absolutely brilliant at everything, it would take away what made her so likable. ^^I'm glad that my efforts weren't in vain.^^

Hahaha. Then we can be all, "I remember the days when..." and "Do you know where that came from?" We be so smart ;) I had to explain the American term "bought the farm" to a friend the other day because even though people use it as a euphemism for dying, it's no longer as common and it originated from like WWII, so no one knows what it means, lol.
