that's pretty cool! I always look back and think, "Was I that small when I was a freshman?" It's so strange, it seems like every year the freshies get smaller and smaller ;P

..or I'm getting bigger and bigger? o.0

Nothing new really.. not much worth mentioning that I can think of. Haha

I figured I'd showed them what a real vampire story could be like. Lol.

Ah yes, priorities. Haha. Twilight was kind of gutter trash. I'm not going to lie, though. I read the saga. I had read the full thing just in case at the end she murdered off everyone like I was praying for--staring with the sparkling, virgin vampire! *muahaha*
I'd much rather read Masked than Twilight any day!

Well thank you.

And I loved the intro to Forbidden Woods.. because I'm a HUGE fantasy reader. Anything with mythical creatures, I'm there! I don't actually know much about that realm of creatures though. That's why I liked it! Because it's new. I hope you're able to continue it.. it sounded so interesting. And I would say, don't let too much of the "facts" discourage your main idea. You may have to twist things but remember, you can sort of make goblins what you want them to be. I know this is a horrible example, but Twilight twisted the idea of vampires.. though it was a horrible twist.. still. You know what I'm getting at, right?

Like for example: The Rephaim, as far as history is concerned, do not even exist. But you know what, I felt like playing God and decided viola! they live! haha.

. . . no comment regarding Torrel and Luka.

Yeah I'm definitely glad that I've been doing research because I feel like the story wouldn't have near the depth.. though - I just read over one of my chapters and I'm seeing a lot of stuff I need to fix up. So I'm definitely going to step up my game in the editing department and try and make things flow more smoothly. I feel I repeat words too often and some things are just messy.

Yes, there are different levels of demons. Which, as weird as it sounds, I've also done research on. I've read demonology books etc. to grasp the concept of demons, but some of the things will be my own interpretation, to a degree - basically the stuff that isn't mentioned that I have to come up with on my own. There are legion demons, who have been given certain rank over lower demons. There are nightmare demons, disguise demons, incubus.. etc. But there's a different between people in Hell and demons. Completely different.

Yeah, Torrel is half human (sorta). But I don't want to say too much more than that because that would spoil a little bit of the story. Same with the love thing, though I will let you know (since you're pretty awesome and I feel we share a similar interest in this stuff) that there is going to be a conflict between Torrel's character (him being half demon) and Luka.. if that wasn't already apparent that they have a history by their exchange of words in the alley. >.<

Well as I see it, it doesn't matter if you're religious, because fiction is fiction and you can enjoy it regardless. That's what so fun about it. Especially the concept of demons. Haha, shweeet! I'm racking up the cool points!

I'm definitely going to be explaining the demon concept a little more in depth in the next couple chapters. So far I've only gotten to the beast-like demons, except for Torrel and Tickbane (and the others) who look like humans with glamour but - like i said... I'll explain it. Hopefully, haha.

Rephaim is spelled a number of ways. I used the ancient way to spell it in my title, Repha'im, because it has a different meaning. But when I write, I use Rephaim, because it refers to a race of people. A Rephaimite is like saying you're an American, from America. Repha'im is more of a place (in a sense), Rephaim is a race, a Rephaimite is a group of people and Rafa is slang, for a single Rephaim who is generally a loner. Like Luka's character.

Nope, I've heard and seen worse, so it's no worry.

And I'm glad because I'm currently in love with this story, I know I keep mentioning the fact but I just can't help it! Lol. :)

What sort of research did you need to do for that story anyways? You're research paid off, though! And what inspired the idea--aside from the writer's block, lol :)

Ha, okay good..

Ah! You're getting me all excited because you keep saying that and it makes me all happy! Haha.

Research.. mainly I went from the Bible and I had to buy The Book of Enoch. I have about 8 pages on a Word Document all listing quotes/verses about where the Rephaim are mentioned and verses that cross-reference just the mention of them. I didn't make up the Rephaim, they're kind of like Wizards and Faeries.. legends, but some people believe they're real and others don't etc... They're only mentioned in the Old Testament and the most well-known Rephaimite is Goliath (David and Goliath). But when I started to REALLY look for information I've been finding all sorts of stuff on the Rephaim. It's pretty cool, actually. They're like an ancient race of giants back around Mosses' time. They were killed off by God (sort of, I'll be explaining that in my next chapter actually).. I don't want to spoil much, so that's all I'll say for now. Unless you really are dying to know or something haha.

The idea to write the story though, came from reading a lot of demon hunting books. They all were about fallen angels. So basically the good vs. evil; angels fighting demons, protecting mankind. Well... being the philosophical loser I am, I read up on the Rephaim and they're not really angels, but they're extremely powerful and in historical reference they were called 'giants' because of their strength and size. I came across some verses also that implied they somehow were like keepers to the dead, serving God even though their race had been discarded in a way. So it got my mind thinking and basically, BAM, I came up with the Rephaim and the idea of keepers of the underworld sort of thing - but with a twist. Idk... you probably got really confused reading that. haha.
