I like this poem. My late brother's name was Christopher. A few years ago I was visiting Toulouse and there was a statue of Saint Christopher that pilgrims in the Middle Ages had to visit and touch. I was touring France with a choir and it was a beautiful experience. When I read your poem and got to "I failed" I wept bc I feel like I failed my brother sometimes. I would like to set this poem to music. Please let me know if that's OK.

I just looked up Saint Christopher and found he was the patron saint, or at least was associated with, bachelors and journeys. I'm guessing you had as much knowledge because now I feel that split, wandering feeling of a person who falls in love with everything they meet but their legs must keep moving, always moving.
