First of all let me say that I adore your layout. Cute Well done on that. Clap Plus the poem's title is interesting.

The first verse is so honest and beautiful. It states things we know yet we don't want to believe. When we are in love and everything is well, we tend to think that our heart loves deeply another person while when we break up we are trying to think itts our mind instead so we can move on.

    over a canvas of flesh
One of my favorite lines in the second stanze. In Love
I also like the feeling of hope this stanza gives off.

The last version was a nice way to end this poem, with the conclusion of a relationship that goes to the next level while still being in love for who they really are.

I’m here to smash up your mailbox. And first I just want to say that this is the first ever poem I’ve ever read on Mibba! But I just want to tell you that this is really well written. It’s lovely and it flows nicely and the imagery is gorgeous. I don’t know a lot about poetry, so forgive me if this is a crappy comment. But it was really beautiful and I’m going to go ahead and egg your house too (recommend) so that others can read your work. ^.^

This is amazing, it reminded me of life, how everything in society has to be perfect and how if we're different we're not good enough. I loved this poem. It was beautifully written, you're a wonderful poet.

This hit me where it hurts, to be frank. Maybe it’s just ‘cause I’m homesick and needed to hear something positive – although maybe you didn’t intend for this poem to be positive, the last stanza really stood out to me as such. I love this. People tend to act as if human actions are a result of just one thing, like the heart or head working on its own, when it’s really everything coming together at once. In a way, I see this poem as a sort of story in itself, with the first stanza detailing someone’s heartbreak, the second stanza finding hope, and the third finding happiness again, and the actual writing is beautiful. In Love The pacing is wonderful, the imagery is so vivid, and overall this is a great look at emotions and how they work in all ways, positive or negative. In Love

oh, wow. this poem really resonates with me. I love that you started out with a notion we don't hear too often: our brain powers our actions as opposed to our heart, and that's the reason we recover from heartbreak so slowly, going over every agonizing detail that went wrong until it doesn't mean anything at all. it never leaves.

I think the second stanza is my favorite because it's just fascinating to me that you will never see how you actually look in person, not a photo or a mirror or a video (unless you have an identical twin, of course.) that always gets to me, because we have such a clear vision of ourselves in our own mind, but we never know if it translates into reality-- "because the person that we are is something no one can truly see"

the last stanza really enforces the meaning behind the first by turning it around into the complete opposite, and I absolutely LOVE that. I can tell you've put a lot of thought into this poem by representing both ends of the spectrum, pessimism and optimism. that's the most powerful thing of all.

Your words...my god, I find it so difficult to put into words just how beautiful they really are. Many people use words to describe, to talk- you, my friend, use them to paint. The imagery in my head is just so beautiful as I read this, you have a real talent with poetry. I'm finding it so difficult to write something constructive for you, because you've stunned me to speechlessness!

Candy bowl! Wow! This is fantastic! The meaning behind the poem is strong and I love it. I think your meaning is something like this: Even though we are gone, we will never be forgotten in our loved ones hearts. You can correct me if I'm wrong, that's just what I took from the poem. I really love reading poetry, because it's shorter than reading a story yet still holds that same depth, if not more to it.

"the person that we are is not reflected in a mirror or a photo or in the meaningless words of another individual"

This part specifically hits home for me. Beautiful writing!
