Yes, I am. Or rather, I was. Sometimes I find that writing down my thoughts helps to process my emotions and my dark moments, so that they can go by without harming me. It helps me not to obsess. I've been sober for over 2 years now and I'm doing great, but still healing from the brain damage I incurred throughout my years of meth use. Another reason I write things down is because I never want to forget where I came from. Leaving a paper trail of thoughts and feelings, I hope to look back one day and see the progress.
This poem wasn't meant to be about love, but it can be if you choose. After taking a psychology class and learning about how the brain works with chemical signals, operating by dosing itself up on dopamine whenever something good happens, I was having a bit of a crisis inside myself. It was hard for me to grasp that beneath all of the struggling and all of the deep meaning that life had to offer, I was nothing more than a gluttonous brain scrambling towards its next dose.

Are you a meth-induced person? I did like your poem. Even if not in the same context of which you're talking about. I can see it be a pessimistic view on life and on love.
