i, too, didn't think about the album in that way. i noticed that the songs really didn't flow together and that did disappoint me. i wanted to really love it right away, but it's going to take some getting used to. but this was a great article!

"It was when we were debating the use of Dr. DeathDefying to being the only 'true concept' of the Killjoys is when I had a musical epiphany. Dr. DeathDefying is a Disk Jockey hosting radio transmissions, and radio stations don't play songs that flow, they don't play whole albums; they just play music. So it can be said that the album shouldn't flow like an album but instead flow like a radio show; and if that is the case 'Danger Days...' creates a whole new world of ideas and thinking outside the box."

That's a very good point, and something I hadn't noticed before. I think that's very clever. I mean, I always knew the concept behind Dr. Death Defying and song's like Goodnight, Dr. Death (although that doesn't really count as a song), but it hadn't really hit me before. That just makes me like the album even more. I love Danger Days and is definitely my favorite of their's so far.

Also, you hit the nail on the head in the beginning. I've been saying since the album was released that you shouldn't listen to the album if you're expecting Revenge or TBP 2.0, because that's not what you're going to get.

Great article, although I think you were missing a couple words there in the beginning. ;)

I thought this article flowed wonderfully and you hit it spot on. They wanted to have it sound like a radio show, not technically an album. The fact that they made an album previously and then scraped it to make this one the final fourth album means that, as you stated in your article, they made something they wanted and didn't go with what was expected.

I agree with your statement with not hating it and not loving it. I'm stuck in an emotional limbo with this album, because I did compare it to their previous work and do admit that I was hoping for them to go back to their revenge, or even bullet, roots. This should definitely not be compared to any previous albums and should be looked at with the intention of sounding like a radio show.

The band wanted color, something new, and they have achieved it with this album. It's a good "album" and I can't wait to listen to it non-stop...as soon as I return the amended version and trade it for the explicit version instead, of course.

    Great article once again!

Gah, love the new album more than anything else in the world right now. I think they've really meshed for this album, its all together. Ray, Frank and Mikey are so obviously together musically on this one and Gerard is well... Gerard :D

I'm also loving that they've brought more James into things because James Dewees is one of my favourite musicians, fullstop.

I saw them in October and heard Na Na Na, Destroya and The Kids From Yesterday. I'm going to see them twice in February, I can't wait to hear the rest of it live, y'know? Ahh >:D

Nice article by the way - it flowed beautifully. :)

I agree with kaintheclouds. Theyre such geeky guys ( in a good way of course :) that i think theyve always wanted to relive their childhood and put their influences into effect, and i think that's what this record's all about :)

Nice review. Personally, I love the new album and I think this really is the stuff MCR always wanted to do, because if you really look at the albums everyone loves, Revenge and Bullets, theres a lot of pain in those albums. Gerard had seen 9/11 during bullets and his and Mikey's grandmother passed away during Revenge. It's all in Life on the Muder Scene, but if no one see's where I'm coming from or going with this, that's okay don't bash me!

The Black Parade was meant as a middle finger to the world.
In reality it was a big middle finger to the previous MCR fans.

However, the new album is fantastic.

I hated the black parade so when this CD came out, it was going to me their last chance for me. Fortunately Danger Days kicks major ass. I'm loving this is CD, dude.

I'm LOVING the new album, the album was based off of a comic Gerard wrote and the music videos will make a story when you watch them in the right order. I love the whole super hero theme they've all got going on now! It's super awesome! I love it!

I still haven't heard any of the songs (I'm dying to, but I made the mistake of adding the album to my wishlist and now I can't bring myself to by it (because I'm almost certain my best friend is giving it to me)), but this article has just made me even more excited about it. Which is quite an achievement.
I'm dying to see (hear) what you are talking about with Way's lyrics, 'cause they're one of the reasons I'm really hooked on MCR.

Nice article, seems both relevant and objective all the while it is also saying 'listen to the album. You're bound to like it!'.

And I loved your ending ^^
