The Getaway Plan

The Getaway Plan The Getaway Plan is four-piece alternative rock band from Melbourne, Australia. They currently consist of Matthew Wright (vocals, Guitar, Keyboard), Clint Ellis (Guitar), Dave Anderson (Bass) and Aaron Barnett (drums). They released there demo in 2004 and in 2006 they got signed to Boomtown Records and created their debut release EP titled Hold Conversation. In 2008 they released there debut studio album titled Other Voices, Other Rooms which peaked a number one of the Australian Independent Records (AIR) charts and also peaked at number fourteen on the ARIA albums charts, spending four weeks in the ARIA top fifty.

Since formed in 2004 The Getaway Plan has played with many known bands such as Goodnight Nurse, Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Unwritten Law, Alkaline Trio, Eighteen Visions, Silverstein, Strike Anywhere, Anberlin, Bodyjar, Antiskeptic, I Killed The Prom Queen, Millencolin, Kisschasy, Closure In Moscow and My Chemical Romance. The Getaway Plan has recently completed the national tour of Australia for Other Voices, Other Rooms. They played every capital city nationwide with more than one show in each. They were accompanied by Stealing O'Neal from Melbourne and Elora Danan from Perth. This tour was a great success with several sold out locations. They also played several in store locations for free.

In May 2008 the band toured Australia nationwide with the USA's The Donnas and Australian rock/punk back Kisschasy. In June/July 2008 the band set off on their nationwide headlining tour titled "Where the City Meets the Sea Tour 2008." They are also set to support Simple Plan in their Australia tour in October 2008.

Their singles "Where the City Meets the Sea" and "Streetlight" were the singles that brought attention to the Australian band. They have currently released their new third single off there debut studio album titled "Shadows." You can find The Getaway Plan on their MySpace.
