Set It Off: Rising Artist From Tampa, FL

Set It Off: Rising Artist From Tampa, FL Set It Off, the common abbreviation being S!O, is an unsigned pop-punk alternative band with a sound all their own. Currently, there are five members of this Floridian band. Lead singer and guitarist: Cody Carson. Guitarist: Zach Something. Bassist: Austin Kerr. Keyboardist: Danny Clermont. Drummer: Benji Panic. Together, these five men make music that you can hear their progress and personal struggle in.

The lead singer, Cody Carson, first started with acoustic song covers on his Youtube account RockManiac89. The majority of these videos being songs by All Time Low. Cody decided to make a video asking Alex Gaskarth, lead singer of said band All Time low, if he'd be able to sing on stage with the band. A reply was the sent to him with the answer, an answer that was the promising start for Cody Carson. Yes.

According to the band's own Youtube account, the formation date was May 12, 2008. The EP Baby, You Don't Tripajaharda was released with a song familiar to many of the fans: Oh Marjorie. This song was the first song Cody Carson had written and sang on his Youtube account that was his own. The band does a similar thing of their next EP Calm Before The Storm, rerecording their song Text Me, Kelly from their first EP.

Touring has been somewhat of a difficult task for the band. Between food, a place to stay, gasoline, and other necessities, money does end up running short. Especially for a band trying to make a name for themselves. A project called Feed The Bands has helped Set It Off out with those problems.

Major influences to Set It Off are the bands: All Time Low, Blink-182, Four Year Strong, Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship, We The Kings, and Forever The Sickest Kids. If you're a fan of any of those named bands, you should take a second to check out Set It Off. It will be worth it.
