AetherBorn, Guardian's of Pop/Rock Sound!

In winter 2009, Sarah Todd, Mike Cotton, Mike Polish, Rory McDougall, and Paul Penney combined their musical talents to form a quintet called AetherBorn. With just one listen to their original pop/rock sound, anyone can hear that success is obviously coming for the group.

AetherBorn originate from Hamilton, Ontario. The music industry has seen tons of talent from Canada including bands like Paramore and Asking Alexandria. However, AetherBorn has a completely different sound than these two acts. The vocal stylings of band leader Sarah Todd shed light on a different perspective of music. A perspective that AetherBorn have taken all on their own.

Of course, Todd’s vocals aren’t the only thing helping to create an incredible noise. The beat of Cotton’s drums, rhythm of Polish’s bass, and the roaring blasts of McDougall and Penney’s guitars all make an incredible contribution to Aetherborn as a whole. As can be heard on Guardian, track one of their EP of the same name, the band has learned to make a fresh new melody that music die hards will fall for instantly. To add to Sarah Todd’s insanely good voice, the singing stylings of a male can also be heard on Darkness Falls, another great song featured on the EP.

What really is a superb addition to the music created by AetherBorn is their lyrics. Most anyone could relate to the words. One of their lyrics read “Mother of mine, your absence like thorns in my side.” This sentence is powerful enough in it’s own, not to mention the corresponding lyrics in the rest of the song. They speak to teenagers easily, speaking of typical feelings that adolescents, and even adults, usually express. Only, when AetherBorn does it, the feelings are expressed in an amazing rock n roll way.

All in all, AetherBorn is heavily suggested for anyone looking for a great new sound to blare through their headphones. All music fans should head on over to the iTunes store to purchase their own digital copy of an EP that cannot be missed out on, Guardian. So head on over to their Tumblr blog AetherBorn to buy the EP of 2010.
