I was at a consert were ETF was playing and I was soooooo sad when Crag said that Max was sick. At first I thought he was like dieing or something but then I look it up and it said he was in rehab.....But I still pray for him <3
I went to one of their concerts a few Tuesdays ago. He wasn't there (which was soooo disappointing) and Craig said he was just having some problems and to say some prayers for him until he was well again. I don't think Max would ever leave ETF unless he absolutely had to.
Thank you for writting this article! I'm so tired of seeing these rumors about Max. They act like he's some terrible person because he checked into rehab. I personally am proud of him for getting the help he needed. And it's really upseting to see that people assumed he passed out because of drugs..
I agree with both Fortune's Fool and Faster. This did come off a bit snotty to me, like you were being defensive in your argument rather than just supplying the facts of the situation. Also, I've believed Max to be a hypocrite for a long time. I've been stabbed in the back by people I thought were my best friends, so when I heard about what Max did to Ronnie, I lost any and all respect I ever had for him.
and I'm pretty sure they just played the House of Blues within the last few months... getting big and being able to play all over instead of just in your hometown doesn't exactly warrant "abandonment". That's just success, haha.
Also, Ronnie wasn't kicked out because he was a drug addict, directly. He was kicked out because his drug addiction got him put on probation causing him to not be able to leave the state, which made touring basically impossible for the band if they were to keep Ronnie as their vocalist. Yes, Max was doing drugs too, but he wasn't holding the band back from touring or anything because of it.
Coming from another big fan of Escape The Fate, I feel like this would have been better as a post on the band's forum thread or a journal. It came across as more snotty than informative, to be honest. I understand your want to defend Max and all, but as an article I feel like it should be more about the facts of his going to rehab, passing out onstage, and needing to be sent home to get better. If the facts are all there, your point should be proven reguardless.
I don't mean this offensively, just stating my opinion.
I have to agree with Fortune's Fool about this topic. Max and Ronnie were the closest in the band, and if anything, Max appeared to be more than eager about the drugs. You know, he's been on the drugs since he was c.16, so that's quite a long time. Then Ronnie was sent to jail, and there was another guy in the band who was also kicked out about drugs...yet Max was allowed to stay in, even though he was a huge addict too.
And sure he's admitted he has a problem, but I get the feeling it's because Ronnie's stone cold sober, and he's not. :/
This might gain me a lot of hate, but Max is a hypocrite. He kicked Ronnie out of the band for being an addict and now he wants support when he finally admits to his own problem? I lost all respect for Max a long time ago. He's sold out to me. I watched ETF grow, because I live in Vegas. We were so proud of our boys, but they abandoned us. They claim to be so Sin City, but they haven't played a show here in years. At least Ronnie showed love for the kids he left back home. We MADE them, but they ditched us as soon as they got Craig.
I'm glad you posted this. There's way too much bad publicity surrounding all four of those amazing guys. Max is a really great guy, and I am speaking as someone who has actually had conversations with him before and likes him for the person he is, and not a fan obsessed with his looks. xD
It's nice that Max has admitted that he's an addict - which is the hardest part. I'm very happy for them that he wants to get help and is in fact doing just that. I wish him the absolute best.
very well done. I'm happy for Max, really, he's doing good trying to stay on track and all. Its a little rest he needs, that's all. Its jsut too bad i cant see him perform, yeah, i'm sad. But if that means more music from his side, i'll happily pout in the corner and wait.
Nicely done! I remember when I saw ETF in concert, they were pretty awesome. Max looked pretty healthy (but I was ten feet from the stage without my glasses, so what do I know? Lmao) I really believe Max is getting on track, so I would believe this with or without your sources for this article haha
He seems like he's trying to get back on track, rumours or not. When I saw them in London after he got out of rehab (it's probably something he says at every show, now) he said he done it for the fans, and for the music. I think I believe him, he's trying to get better than he's been in a long time.
