Dr. Dog
With a sound that has been compared to bands of the 1960's and 70's such as The Beatles or the Beach Boys, Dr. Dog is a quirky and unique psychedelic rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The group formed around 1999 and self-released two albums, but they were never well-known until the band My Morning Jacket took them on tour in 2004. This brought many fans and much praise for their music, especially their 2004 album Easy Beat (released on the Indie record label Park The Van). Soon after, they toured the U.S. with bands such as Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Strokes, Delta Spirit, The Black Keys, and The Raconteurs.
The band members include Taxi, Tables, Text, Time, and Thanks. Previous members included Trial, Truck, and Today.
Factoids: The song Worst Trip from their album We All Belong is featured on the movie Fast Food Nation, Dr. Dog has been on Late Night With Conan O' Brian and Late Show with David Letterman, and they have performed at festivals such as Bonnaroo, and Lebowski Fest.
