W.B. Yeats-Selected Poems

W.B. Yeats-Selected Poems Once again, Phoenix Poetry brings together another collection of memorable poems, written by legendary poets. This collection only brings out the best work of William Butler Yeats. Both a pioneer of Poetry, and a master storyteller, Yeats’s poetry reveals the magic and complexion of Irish poetry.

As a fan of traditional Gaelic poetry, W.B. Yeats has become one of my favorites. In his poems, there are always things to be learned, morals to be applied, and life to be lived. Some contain lessons about life, and some are plain whimsical. Poems such as “On a Political Prisoner,” and “He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven,” contain a serious, but meaningful tone, while pieces such as, “The Fiddler of Dooney,” is slightly set at a lighthearted emotion.

In every poem, Yeat’s always tells a story in each of his fine work. In the piece, “Stolen Child,” the pioneer poet tells the tale of once, we were small children, wanting to get away from the world.

For me, nothing but inspiration have I drawn from the written marvels of William Yeats. As a budding poet, his style leaves me in awe. Every single word always has some meaning, or revelation, that can be applied to life. For anyone looking for Poetry with a traditional Gaelic touch and a touch of magic, I highly recommend this collection of poetry.
