Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks

Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks Warning: This article contains spoilers.

I've only read this recently, but it only took me two days, and I immediately fell in love with it. Although I'm much younger than Adrienne or Paul at any point in the book, I found that I was able to relate without much difficulty.

Now, I'm a strong person, and it takes a lot to make me cry, even on a bad day. This book had me in tears for an hour. It was on of those things that made me think "Hey, that could be me. What happens if I never find love, or if I do, and it ends up like that?"

I would give it a 5/5 star rating. Sparks has such a way with words. This is the first novel of his that I've read, but already I'm looking forward to others such as "The Notebook" which movie I've seen, but I'll save that for another review.

Nights in Rodanthe is the story of two lonely middle-aged adults who've never really known what it meant to feel truly passionate about something. Paul was always so immersed in his work, that is wife divorced him because of it, and his son quit speaking to him after a horrible argument.

Adrienne has always been the kind of woman you'd expect to be a great mother. Smart, witty, caring; she had it all. Unfortunately, her husband didn't see that as they grew older, so he ran off to get married to a much younger woman who ended up leaving him for another man, too.

I think it great that these two remarkable person came to find each other. Sparks made it seem like destiny. I could literally imagine myself walking down the beach with them, or boarding up the windows of that old Bed in Breakfast in Rodanthe.

The entire plot line is so moving that anybody would cry in spite of themselves. And really, it wasn't one of those overwhelmingly gushy, lovey-dovey type things at all. If you've ever lost a loved one, you should read this book because it will definitely help you. The whole reason of the story is Adrienne telling it to her daughter, Amanda, after her husband dies at a young age.

I also, now, really want to see the movie that has been sweeping the nation. That's impressive, in my book. I've read countless stories that have been made into movies and I wasn't the least bit interested. This is undoubtedly an exception and I can't wait to find the time to watch it on the big screen.
